Royal Bengal — Restaurant in Broxbourne

Don't go, there are serious hygiene issues. I was so disappointed last Saturday night when while waiting by the bar to be seated, we spotted the waiter rinsing glasses with cold water. When challenged, the manager said they were using washing up liquid. He showed me the bottle and the bottle was dry with the lid still on, clearly showing it was not used. If this is what they do in full view of the customers, I cannot begin to imagine what goes on in the kitchens.

I took my family there for years and I feel so let down knowing the hygiene was not up to standards.

In the past the food was consistently excellent and service was superb. All that work there are always accommodating and will go out of their way to please. Nothing is impossible keep it up guys, we love your food. Prices are reasonable...

Spur of the moment decision to eat out after long week at work. Dined here before and it was always excellent. Not this time though. The restaurant was busy and there was one group of about 50 people who showed zero respect or concern for other diners. Noise was off the scale. They were shouting at the top of their voices and running up and down the bench seats. The sort of behaviour you might expect from kids but they were adults many of whom were middle aged. Stuck with it for half an hour with glass of wine and some poppadoms but with the noise increasing we had to get our meal packed up for takeaway after the management just laughed when we asked them to get the noise dealt with. Night out turned into night in!!!!! ...

Rubbish ordered full meal with popadoms, naan Brest etc. Collected but had no yoghurt dip or mango chutney to accompany popadoms , I thought they had forgotten; so I called to say they weren’t in the bag? alas, because I had chicken jalfraze with rice and veg curry and rice these accompaniments with popadoms are not free!!! However, I was told on the telephone if I had ordered a chicken tikka masala or tandoori dish then the popadom accompaniments would have been included..... i.e ( yogurt sauce, mango chutney etc) What a crock of nonsense - these accompaniments have always been included when I’ve ordered in the past. been using same Indian 19 years......not any more there are 3 to choose from In...
