Me and the wife popped into this pub during our daily walk. I had heard about the breakfast menu and so wanted to try it out. The breakfast menu ranges from £6.50--£10.00 depending on what you choose to have on your plate. We chose the £10.00 set plate. There was no black pudding on this particular day, but you can exchange for another item that they do have. The food was fair and tasted ok, but the egg was totally dry. (No dippy dip on this occasion) I was advised to try this pub out because the items you received for the £6.50 set plate were more than efficient to fulfil ones needs. In fairness, the pricing of the menu for what you get on the plate was pretty much on par with the local cafes that I have tried. However, you can have as much tea and coffee as you desire included in the price. The service was super duper, nice and friendly, but be aware that The Queen's Head pub is a cash only pub if you chose to visit. The parking facilities are directly outside the front. I can't comment on the rear of the pub as we never ventured outside at the time. I hope that this helps with your choice. Stay safe...
Read moreWe were looking for a pub with traditional food for mums birthday and had never been here before so thought we would check it out. Irish waitress so friendly and sat us down straight away and handed us the menu and took our drink orders, which she promptly delivered. We were shocked at how cheap the food was priced on the menu and thought they would be a smaller version, how shocked we were when a huge plate of homemade lasagne, crispy chips and fresh salad appeared for me and mum, my husband had no less than 5 locally sourced sausages with creamy mash, crispy onions and peas, he could not eat it all, even thought it all tasted absolutely lovely. Publican nice too, he came to ask if food was OK, we advised it was lovely. So a pint of Moretti, a pint of Shandy, one cappacino, a bottle of Barefoot cabernet savouignon, 3 main meals, £45, unheard of, left a £5 tip for great service, well deserved. Great staff, food and wine, we will be...
Read moreFood was great, and the price very reasonable indeed! We did have to wait a long time for our food, however the service and food was so great I’ve still given five stars. Really lovely people and a great time was had by all (although one from our group complained about the amount of time it was taking, her frustration wasn’t shared by me). Would go there again in a heartbeat. If there was anything g I would improve about it, I would suggest being able to pay by card. The nearest cash machine charged £2, and it was just a bit of faff that wasn’t needed. Apart from...
