I decided to try this place at 09:20 today. I tried to open the main door gently but it appeared to be locked. A lady who worked there told me to pull the door handle down more and pull. My first guess was right as it was still locked. Id never have pulled the door accept I was advised to do so.
The proprietor called Tony started shouting at me for pulling the door and wouldn't listen. Arrogant and rude despite what some locals claim. It was meant to be open at 9am and the entrance was locked. He needs to learn to act calmer and try and listen. I guess he doesn't need the business. I headed into Nottingham instead and will be telling the local business where my car is being upgraded not to recommend. I don't like being shouted at and won't stand for such treatment. He was still shouting in the kitchen when I left. I guess he likes to have the last word and can't handle someone standing up to him
Stop shouting and open on time, or don't serve breakfast at all! No-one wishes to pull the entrance door so tell your colleague not to give...
Read morePre-booked afternoon tea: Upon arrival the cakes and sandwiches were set out on the table ready along with glasses and tea cups. The owner greeted us and was very friendly and busy. A lovely lady saw to us and made sure our pot of tea was brought straight out along with orange juice and water with orange slices in it. There were 4 different flavours on the 🥪 of meat, egg and tuna (we'll eat anything) We were looked after, and the lovely lady that saw to us even brought out some extra macarons for my toddler who was tucking onto one and the fresh strawberries. The cream tea itself was beautifully presented. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and there was a welcoming atmosphere with a clear regular couple popping in as well. I would definitely recommend the place for value for money and a friendly relaxed feel where you aren't being rushed out. Although the weather was grim, there was a good flow of people ordering all sorts and we were 1 of 3 of the afternoon teas for the day so that speaks...

Lovely, friendly, passionate chap with a good team of helpers.
Post parkrun it's vibrant with Lovely park runners.
Lots of seating in and out. Lovely on a sunny day.
Tea is good, and have a choice of small or big, which I like.
There is a good choice of breakfast's or can have cake instead!
Lots of folk were ordering the bacon butties, I went for the sausage butty which was dissapointing because of the low grade sausage made it tasteless. At £4.70 for a large tea and butty I'd happily pay more for better quality.
Toilets are available inside, and dogs are welcome.
It's a fab location and everyone is really friendly.
I'll be back at some point for a tea or coffee. Unless the quality of the sausages improves I'll pick something...
