This is this year's Xmas eve review can't believe it's similar to my last one from 3yrs ago. Table booked for 630 got to sit down at 650. Had to ask to order. 30 mins later had to ask where poppadoms were. Everyone else in the restaurant were also waiting. There was a table there who had been waiting 2hrs for their starter. Tables were not being cleared after people going. This is my review from 3yrs ago:Service extremely slow. After sitting at the table for 10 mins. I had to ask for someone to take our drinks and food order. Ordered drinks. Five mins later had to ask again to order food. Our menus were taken even though we hadn't ordered. Had to ask again. Food is mediocre to be honest. There are better places but it's in walking distance.

I would love to give it 5 stars however the waiter serving us was unsure what the menu was as we asked for street food asking what the difference in sheesh and sheek kebab he said it was spices, thankfully the owner I think rescued our order. I had prawn cocktail for starter and the sauce was warm but I still ate it. The street food wasn't as good as previous food I had there as previously it was tip top. The owner is so hospitable and gives a warm welcome, cocktails are only available when a certain member of staff is there. The atmosphere and experience is fantastic. I will definitely go again but I will order something different

If I could score 0 I would. As I was dining alone it was as if I wasn't welcome as I wasn't a party of 4 or more. Before I had taken my coat off I was being asked how many poppadums I wanted and what drink I wanted, it was obvious they wanted the table. This was the case for the couple sat on the table next to me. I was delivered my main course whilst I was still eating my poppadums, see attached photo. Pilau rice was not warm, must've been cooked a lot earlier. Definitely will not be going again. I would recommend anyone wanting an Indian Restaurant I would suggest the Blue Bay.

Abysmal is really the only way I can describe the Mogul experience, and to be honest, calling it an experience is like saying I want to go to prison for the experience.

Food was pretty bad when we eventually got it, the restaurant wasn't busy at all and had ample staff. however it took a good 30-45 minutes to receive starters, chops were chewy as hell and lacked flavour. Tried the kebab, it was ok at best and incredibly salty. The mains finally arrived after a good 1hr 30mins, the chicken sizzler was ok but the vindaloo sauce was terrible, tasted the same as many of the other sauces on the table with a load of spices thrown in to increase the spice, which made it peppery hot and not chilli hot which you expect and want from an Indian. lamb sizzler tasted the same as the chops and again was chewy and overcooked to hell, really really poor.

Service, now this is where it all went downhill. you can forgive to an extent bad food, but the service should keep you coming back. not this time. a good 30% of our order was forgotten including mains, sides and breads, with no explanation and no appology. it seemed like the staff had zero idea what we had ordered as we had to explain what was missing after food came that wasn't ordered. one of the party ordered a drink with mains which didn't come for an hour. one main was completely forgotten about, which we told the server with no explanation, 15 minutes went by without any updates so we had to again go to the staff to ask where the food was. By this point, we were the only ones in the restaurant however when we asked one member of staff about the food we were waiting on they simply said “sorry i dont know im not dealing with your table”, Pretty confused which table he was dealing with as they were all empty !

Honestly go anywhere but here, get a takeout from anywhere it'll be better and cheaper. and at least with a takeout, you're...

I don't often bother writing bad reviews, I end up feeling harsh about slating someone's business, but this place is a joke. As someone who's spent a good amount of time living in India, I probably have a slightly worthwhile opinion on Indian food - and the offerings here I suppose are trying to be some sort of Indian food imitation. It's a very, very poor representation. Curry that tastes like it's straight out of a can, plied with powdered spices seconds before serving - and poured over under-seasoned meat is probably fine for the average British palate, but if you know anything about authentic Indian tastes do yourself a favour and stay well away. Lamb tasted like it had been boiled to death, chewy, dry and bland. Chicken was well cooked but bland as anything. Chicken kebab hugely salty. Rice bland. And then comes the service.

My days, the service.

We were a large party, fair enough, but 30 minutes for some starters to come out, and then a nice long wait before about 60% of our mains came. The rest presumably forgotten about, but no one could really ever know. Sides were forgotten - then still charged for. None of the staff seemed to know what was going on.

Easily, like 1st place with flying colours, the worst 'indian food' I've ever encountered. Coupled with almost the worst service.

Not a chance...

General consensus on the table was the curry was above average, however I had the cod sizzler which was greasy and overcooked. I would have asked to send it back but we had waited an hour for the mains to arrive with one of our company waiting roughly a further 10 mins on top of the hour the rest of us waited. We challenged the length of time we waited and were told that sizzlers took time and they had a number of delivery orders to fulfil. No apology given at all. Didn't ring true as other tables were waiting about the same length of time for their orders. Staff continually pester you asking if you want more drinks, which I think is the primary reason for the delayed food as they want you to spend more. Drinks were also very expensive £6.95 for a large Cobra. The bill isn't itemised and we had to challenge it especially drinks part. No pricing listed for the dishes on the bill so you have to rely on memory to split it. On this occasion our bill was wrong. Been a few times now with different people and can only...
