A warm welcome from Casper the dog when we arrived on a Saturday lunch, less so from the landlady who said we should have let her know we had a dog in tow - we had on the booking, but that clearly hadn't made it through to the staff working that day. Pleasant enough place and had quick service for the lunch we ordered; there were lots of beers I would have loved to try, but was driving - I'm sure they'd have been better than the coffee I had! The food was all reasonable and cooked fresh. It filled up very quickly for a Saturday lunch, but not surprising given there was a lunchtime match being shown.

As I've never been to this pub before, I thought I'd pop in with my big sister. As a birthday treat I had my favourite cheeky pint of bitter, that was purfik I must say. The Service was great, the pub was spotless and people very friendly. We sat outside in the beer garden as it was a fabulous sunny day. The bowling green looked fantastic, I had to look twice to make sure it was real! As I was in a rush, I sadly didn't have any food here, but hope to next time. I believe they do live music here, so can't wait to visit then. As Arny says, "I'll be back"!

Wonderful first experience! The family were craving pub grub so we tried the Eagle & Child and were not disappointed! The staff were so lovely and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! Highly reccomend for a nice day out! We will definitely be dining here again!

I normally enjoy it here, but I came in to watch the match, a band appear and start soundchecking mid-match (instead of waiting 10 minutes for half time) and standing in the way of the TV as often as possible. I asked them if they could possibly move out of the way of the TV whilst the match was on, which in their defence they did. Until the second half whereupon they started playing as loudly as they could despite the landlady telling me that they wouldn't start until after the match had started....
