Peri Peri Chicken Shaq — Restaurant in Bury

(Full disclosure this is my relatives takeaway honest review)

I order from here most of the times because I know what’s good and how it is made.

Best food to order from here:

Peri-Peri Chicken with chip or rice or if your fat like me then rice and chips (either off the bone or on the bone) – I prefer on the bone.

Chunky Peri Burger (the best burger in my opinion on the menu) – I have had this with a beef burger in the same bun, I have also had this burger with cheese bombers and hash brown.

Chicken Sizzler with chips or rice or both - I have had this in a large tray (same tray as the half bird meal) with Pizza cheese on top that amazing with loads of garlic mayo)

Other food to order from here:

Cheese bombers – very tasty but very unhealthy

Cheese sticks – very tasty but very unhealthy

Donner Sizzler you can get this on chips or rice or naan – is very, very tasty BUT I stopped eating this as I put on a lot of weight Mix Sizzler this Chicken and Donner – you can this with chip or rice or both or even on a naan.

Peri-Peri Wings – are okay sometimes they really good the meat just comes of the bone but then sometimes the bone breaks as you taking the meat off (that could be from the supplier the way it is transported to takeaways)

Peri-Peri Burger – is good but compared to the Chunky Peri Burger can be seen as smaller so I tend to get either cheese bombers or hash brown on top or if I am feeling really hunger beef burger in there.

Sully Burger, The Shaq Bomb Burger (Fried Shaq fillet, cheese bombers, cheese slice, lettuce & spicy nachos), The Ultimate Shaq Burger (Fried Shaq fillet, hash brown, cheese slice, lettuce & spicy nachos) these are also decent burgers.

Wraps – they do chicken wraps so the chicken burgers you get them in wrap (I get the Chunky Peri Burger in wrap)

I can’t comment on Pizza or Garlic Bread as I when I go there, I am asked to make the Pizza/Garlic bread myself, so obviously to me it’s going to taste great but I do take my time making these.

Garlic Mayo is the best sauce to get from here it’s the most popular you need to try it.

There is car park next to the takeaway (next to the traffic lights) but I think that is the cash and carry car park but I have seen people parking there to eat here, there is also some parking on the side streets of the takeaway there is road you can park on which is opposite the Iceland – parking it not a major issue could be worse but don’t park fright in front of the takeaway as its double yellows.

Eating area in the front is an okay size for the takeaway but it’s not massive like probably could fit 5-6 families then you would be maxed out so when it is really busy you may struggle for a seat.

Sometimes when they are really busy it’s hard for me to get through to my cousin (which is pain) but not a big deal as I don’t live far away, when they are busy my food may not be made on the time stated but I don’t mind waiting (good food sometimes you have to wait).

Price wise I would state is standard not to expensive and not dirt cheap, they did start of cheap (too cheap in my opinion for the food they were giving out) but as like everything else prices have risen. If you want cheap standard food then their other takeaways in bury who tick that box.

Sometimes I have been there were they look a bit understaffed obviously with less staff the longer it takes to make the food to get out to the customer whether that is on deliveries or on the front desk, I think with some more investment (front, back staff and delivery drivers) this establishment would do so much better. There so much potential in this establishment I think they should new items to the menu but that just my opinion.

When they do get really busy it can get loud and hectic to a point where you can hear it in the front but it not a major issue as I have seen this in other takeaways when they get really busy also.

Iv always been a regular customer to chicken shaq Bury branch, Iv never found an issue with presentation and they’ve always seem to taste ok. Iv always had food delivered, however today I ordered by mobile I was told it’ll be 15 mins i visit in store to pick up. My experience from today I will never order from here again.Whilst waiting for my order there was a customer eating in who complained at the counter about a wrong order the food shop worker threw all his chips from his plate back into the commercial chip warmer and the man gave me the same chips to my meal. The hygiene was disgusting and when I asked the man politely I wanted the fresh chips which were only just cooked he refused and told me to leave. The shop was becoming busier as this was around Friday Jummah prayers.The customer service was very bad and dealt with inappropriately but the hygiene is also disgustingly poor. I didn’t want to make a commotion in the takeaway but I am leaving my feedback for future reference that this place will serve you other peoples left overs and I will not be eating from here again. Complaints team were unhelpful and not interested to this concern I raised. They are happy to take your money but behind that counter serve you dirty food . I started ordering from this business after seeing one of my friends at work using them and being very impressed with the quality of the food. I am very pleased to say that the order quality has been great with my meals as well. The only slight knock is the portion sizes can vary, sometimes the box is full sometimes there is a lot of tray showing underneath the food. My friend said it because I don't have salad, I think they could put in a few extra chips for me but hey. As for value for money no worries at all, in fact it has started a debate as the same friend at work orders from a place called Chunky Chicken and the basic same dish is £1.80 more expensive. He says it is because at Chunky Chicken you are paying for the name its no better. This baffled me because as I see it if the quality is the same go for the cheaper one.
