Had a great time at Bury arcade club, Never been before and took my 10year old son to show him what games I used to play. You pay on entrance and then all machines are free to use.

When walking in you’re presented with this huge room full of arcades, we played street fighter, ridge racer and moved on to Simpsons arcade game. Very disappointed my son got bored with the Simpsons game after stage one (when I was his age this was the game to play) my son wanted to play walking dead shooter but someone was on it so we went and shot some hoops then played guitar hero. We then went on walking dead and kept getting asked by a 7year old who wanted to play, we told him after we had played so his dad came and asked us to leave so they could play as we had been on it 10mins, he asked us to come back after his son had played and start again (we were playing the story and on stage 3) if your coming to an arcade please don’t be this guy 🤷🏻‍♂️ that’s not how arcades work…

There are toilets nearby and even arcades in hallway outside toilets. You would have been relatively happy with your visit at this point, these are the amount of arcades machines you would expect in a typical U.K. arcade in 90’s and could spend and hour here.Whats not overly clear due to it being dark and noisy is this is floor 1 and there are stairs in the corner.

When you go upstairs you realise the rooms above are even bigger! 1 floor has more arcades and couches with big screens and games consoles hooked up to them. It also had a circle desk setup with around 15 xboxs on it that the kids will quite happily sit at and play Minecraft/fortnite etc. I think this would be a great place to leave the older kids while you play some classic arcades. We couldn’t get of the controllers to work on the big screen tv consoles they just wouldn’t sync (I think kids had been swapped them around). There is a starwars battle pod here that was in great demand but we had a game of air hockey and eventually got a go on it.

Next floor has mostly 80’s and 90’s consoles and tons of them! It also had a restaurant. We had a pizza each and I was impressed at the value, it was £5.99 each for a plate sized pizza, (they did burgers too) place was clean lots of staff about, hand sanitiser, napkins and condiments, Drinks were £1.50. I find a lot of places overprice food once your in but I found the found was very good value. They give you a buzzer when you order so you can carry on player games while you wait.

The final floor had Japanese import games and was listed at pc rigs too but we didn’t find that. There was a room labeled adults only we didn’t go in I believe it may be VR, pinball but not 100% sure.

All in all great visit, they stamp your hand when you go in so you can leave and come back, sessions were for a long time think it was 11-11 we booked 2-11 and went later in the day. There were a few machines that didn’t work with broken buttons but I’m sure they fix them when they break. If I lived local I would 100% have the yearly membership option! We went in school hols and it was busy but so much to do you never need to be idle. We are going to try the Blackpool one too at some point i believe it’s a bit...

Me and my son visited the arcade at the weekend and had an absolutely brilliant time.

I've previously visited the Arcade Club in Leeds and really wanted to try the one in Bury too, so we made the journey from Derby to visit.

We arrived for opening and there was loads of free parking. When we left mid-afternoon there were people driving round looking for spaces, but this was a busy bank holiday Monday so it's probably to be expected.

It was easy to find, although the front of the venue looks a bit run down and uninviting. There's rubbish all around, discarded wristbands, and general waste all around. The sign is a temporary banner. The entrance could do with tidying up and making it look bit nicer.

When we entered we were blown away by the variety and sheer number of arcade machines. It's split across 4 floors and there's something for everyone. It was just insanely fun, a proper blast form the past with so many games to play.

The atmosphere was great with people of all ages playing the games. There was always something to play even on a busy bank holiday Monday. We always got to play what we wanted even if it meant waiting a couple of minutes.

All the staff were friendly and helpful.

There's food available on the top floor which I brilliantly priced and tasty. I've photographed the menu and I'm sure you'll agree how reasonable the prices are. The pizzas were fresh and we got them quickly. We were given a buzzer which meant we could carry on playing games whilst it was prepared, but it only took about 10 minutes anyway.

There's also bars on floors 2 and 3 which are great too.

Having recently been to the Leeds Arcade Club can say that this is definitely bigger and has more machines. But there are a few things that Leeds have done better that would make the Bury site a 5 stars rather than 4:

Some TLC with the furniture and walls in the restaurant Menu boards on the walls for food and drinks Some machines were out of order and weren't being worked on. The Time Crisis 2 machine was completely missing a button. The junior Sonic basketball machine didn't work along with some others. We saw no issues like this in Leeds. In fairness this would be a small percent of the total machines, the overwhelming majority were perfect In the Xbox and TV section there were some obviously broken controllers (Thumb sticks sideways) and TVs just not on in the couch gaming area The exterior needs cleaning up

These issues do not detract from an amazing day out, do not be put off at all. This place contains hundreds of amazing arcade machines and we had a brilliant day out. Thank you for all the hard work in preserving arcade culture for the next generation.

My only last feedback and request would be to open an Arcade Club in the Midlands ( Derby or Nottingham, you'd make a fortune!) so we don't have to drive so far to visit!

Thank you so much Arcade Club for running this amazing establishment!

Highly recommended for anyone who lives video...

How could I not give this place 5 stars. It's the heaven I dreamed of growing up late 80s and 90s. A giant arcade, everything on free play. Where do I start? Entrance prices, family and monthly passes, are all eminently reasonable. It's a licensed premises and there's a good selection of bottled beers, snack and foods available. Again, all well priced. Certainly don't feel fleeced here. So ground floor and entrance is a gentle warm up, highlights include a VR suite (closed when we visited but which needs to be separately booked) a packman challenge table for 4 way fun, time crisis, silent scope, guitar hero, pool table and pinball machines, couple of old school cabinets with galaga on etc. Heading up to the first floor, this is one of the most fun rooms with very large screens sofas etc, air hockey, the standout machine here possibly house of the dead scarlet dawn, the star wars battle pod also worth mentioning, there's also luigis mansion, 4 x outrun 2sp sit downs and a few other shooters, basket ball hoop games, a small bar with bottle drinks slushies and snacks. This floor was one of the most popular. 2nd floor is exclusive japanese imports, a fabulous room of neo sit down cabinets Sega Astro City's, you have then a bewildering array of Japanese domestic market machines, a virtual dj booth (twin decks) virtual piano game like guitar hero... Also a line of pinball machines, the iron maiden one very popular. The top floor has a cafe/bar with party suite, and the retro room which is a walk through of the arcade games of yesteryear. Asteroids, space invaders, galaxians, galaga, every iteration of packman you can think of... Original outrun moving ride on, operations wolf & thunderbolt, house of the dead 2, ghost n goblins, robocop, bad dudes... Dig dug, teenage mutant turtles 4 way. You get the picture. If you grew up putting your pocket money in the arcades, whether local or on holiday, this is a brilliant nostalgia trip. Add to that, the kids love it too. My 5 year old stated 'best day out ever' I agreed. I think it'd be worth a trip with and without kids (Friday night adults only) and I'm seriously thinking a monthly pass is needed. It is as close to heaven on earth as I have found. Thank you to all at the...
