Had a catch up with friends on a Thursday evening. This was my first time at The Hollins Bush after years of driving past. There was ample parking to the rear of the pub accessed via the nearby flats residential car park. It is a really lovely little pub with a cosy atmosphere. The young man on the bar was friendly and quick to serve us, and regularly collected our empty glasses too. They have a small beer garden at the back which was lit with fairy lights and we have already said we will come back for in the warmer weather. Read moreTried to reserve a table for food,was told they don't do that and just to turn up,fair enough if that's how it works...however when we did turn up it was clear there was not going to be anywhere to sit any time soon apart from one large table twice the size of the one we would need and on the table was a little sign saying RESERVED. Food is okay ( ish ) which we would put up with if the atmosphere was nice and everything else was nice. However, We have had 4 or 5 separate experiences where we have found the landlady abrupt and rude. Very disappointing to be honest but our last experience means none of us will be going again.
