I ordered the lasagne, which was on the menu, but when I went up to the counter to order it I was told that it was off the menu that night. So I had to have my second choice; fish and chips. The chips and petit pois and tartare sauce were very nice but I was underwhelmed by the fish. We were there for my son's 29th birthday celebration but had not booked in advance. There was a highchair available for my two-year-old grandson who had a good value meal from the children's menu (pizza with mixed veg). It was quite a big portion for a child but he ate all the pizza. He also tried some of my daughter-in-law's pizza and my sons fish and chips! My son and daughter in law were very happy with the food and the environment ( clean, fresh, modern, and spacious). I expected it to be larger. The service was slow. Fortunately, my daughter-in-law ordered the food for my grandson first. He was almost finished by the time my food arrived. My brother and I found that the sound reverberated because of the construction of the dining area and it was difficult to hear people speak. My brother had the fish burger which was so big he could not get his mouth around it! I tried some and it seemed quite nice. If I came again during the daytime with friends, I would probably have that. A friend had the seabass and it came with salad and seasonal veg. I had some of the fish and it was very nicely flavoured and meaty. If I came again in the evening, I would probably have that even though it was one of the more expensive items on the menu at about £13.50. However, I think the salad should be served in a separate bowl with a separate dressing (as a lot of ladies who are dieting do not want a dressing). Personally, I do not like cold food together with hot food. I was very disappointed with the deserts available. I am usually a desert person but on this occasion, I just shared some ice cream in a tub which was very plain and tasted very strongly of vanilla. It was a bit too strong for my tastebuds and maybe artificial? Our table did not receive the attention that the 70th birthday party next to was received. That may have been because they pre-booked and we did not. If you are coming here to celebrate a birthday or special event, I would therefore recommend...
Read morewas really looking forward to have a nice meal with friends and was quite disappointed. the waitress barely spoke english so it was kinda difficult to order quickly. she brought a bottle of water but we had to pour it ourselves and the water was never refilled. we were 7 at the table . there wasnt any dishes with mushrooms or anything that had eggs in it available. ( server told us ) we wanted eggplant parmesan and the server said WE DONT HAVE ANY EGGS!!! EGG-PLANT LOL !!! we ended up getting the eggplant parmesan! eggplant parmesan - was tasty but super oily spicy cheesy fries- the cheese sauce was delicious but we were unaware that there was jalapeno pepper in it so that was not good at all garlic bread - hardly had any garlic and wasnt baked well. it was ok salad- we ordered a few toppings but half of the salad had the toscanini sausage in it so we didnt eat most of it and the 4 eggplant slices were huge and not fully cooked. half the bowl was empty and we ordered a large salad oreo milkshake- ordered the large size and it was on the smaller side. when i asked for a cup so i can share it with my friend i got a tall glass without a straw. there wasnt really any cookies inside just one whole cookie on the top and the consistency was kinda watery. i didnt drink the hot drinks and didnt taste the strawberry waffle so i cant comment on that. the service was not the best and the food was not the freshest. we went on a saturday night so they might have had food left over from the entire week . how do i know it wasnt fresh? i went to the bathroom 4 times after i got home. i know its TOO MUCH INFO but i am giving my honest review. this place has alot of potential and i might try it again when i come back again but is not on my MUST...
Read moreDay 1 of my visit in Manchester I walk in at 22:20 and I am told that restaurant is closed (Google says 23:00) I ask the waitress why close earlier than 23:00 she says we updated our Instagram (how should a tourist know?)
Day 2 I come in for breakfast and the waitress tells me sorry we are not serving breakfast any more then she goes out for a smoke and the manager tells me I can order breakfast which I then order , breakfast was quite good but the avocado was rock hard and couldn't be eaten I informed the manager and didn't get a normal acknowledgement.
Day 2 evening I come with my wife for dinner and the manager tells me sorry about the avocado that's all she had (why serve avocado if it's rock hard) Then order salmon with pasta a pie of pizza and a garlic bread without cheese I didn't want teriyaki sauce in the salmon so I told him to give it to me without sauce fish was supposed to be baked but was definitely grilled and burnt then I request pizza sauce in side and he gives me thousand island sauce which I can't really put in the pasta or fish pizza was full of sauce and little cheese very underbaked dough and the garlic bread was brought to us with cheese , when I told him that I requested without cheese he replied RUDELY you said with cheese which is of course not true he remade the garlic bread without cheese which was also underbaked and I didn't even eat a small piece of it.
Conclusion waste of time bad customer service Bad...
