The Volunteer Arms — Restaurant in Calderdale

Our local pub, although we don't get to visit as often as I'd like. A cosy traditional pub serving a great pint and some good food. Children are allowed until 5pm and dog walkers generally get a friendly welcome from the locals who like to give well behaved (and preferably clean) pets some attention. An outdoor drinking area caters for those wishing to smoke, enjoy the sun or sit with dogs who might have been for a dip in the canal. Local bands often perform live music on a weekend which makes for something a little different that the likes of a Wetherspoons can't provide I'd recommend...

Great pub. Cosy, clean and tidy. Friendly landlord. Only problem is no under 12s allowed after 4pm. That’s their right and no doubt a number of their regulars like it.
