Nestled in the heart of Hebden Bridge, where creativity and open-mindedness intertwine, Vocation & Co has cultivated a reputation that's as diverse as the town itself. Beyond its remarkable craft beer selection, this establishment has woven together a vibrant tapestry of community spirit and a commitment to embracing uniqueness.

Vocation & Co's dedication to breaking boundaries is evident in its eclectic array of beers, each a masterpiece in its own right. From IPAs bursting with tropical notes to sippable stouts rich with the essence of roasted coffee beans, this haven for beer lovers is also a sanctuary for those who seek a truly exceptional experience.

But Vocation & Co's story doesn't stop there. In a town that champions acceptance and love in all its forms, this establishment stands as an ally and a refuge. From events that celebrate community to an ambiance that radiates warmth, Vocation & Co is more than just a place to enjoy a drink – it's a haven where everyone can gather, connect, and revel in the authenticity that Hebden Bridge embraces.

The staff at Vocation & Co are the true architects of this experience. With smiles as warm as the town's embrace, they're not just servers; they're storytellers, passionately guiding you through the intricate flavors of each brew. Their recommendations are a testament to the establishment's commitment to ensuring that every patron's experience is as unique as the town itself.

In a place where individuality and acceptance thrive, Vocation & Co has expertly woven a vibrant tapestry of community, celebration, and exceptional craft beer. The review, "One of the best beer selections in Hebden Bridge with great staff! Cheers," becomes a rallying cry for a space that defies norms, celebrates diversity, and raises a glass to a world where everyone's story can be savored...

It was Saturday early evening and the place was rammed. We waited patiently and pounced on the first table to be vacated. A couple of pulled brisket burgers later we were feeling like we'd found our natural habitat.

So what's so good about Vocation & Co.?

It's a tap room - with character.

20 beers, 16 of which are kegged. I first discovered Vocation after buying a couple of cans from a well known UK supermarket and had planned to visit when we sailed through on our canal journey back home. The bar/pub/tap room is a couple of minutes from the canal, we had to go, it's the law...

"Life and Death" a 6.5abv American style IPA is kind of their signature brew, and rightly so, as it's stunning. I downed a couple of pints then tried their Mochaccino Stout which I'm guessing is from a pilot small batch brew - it's a pudding to rival any chocolate cake or liqueur coffee.

The weather forecast being dire prompted us to add a stopover day in Hebden Bridge and I had planned on making some "publisher suggested" revisions to the final draft of my book, but my mind is distracted knowing I'm only a few minutes away from more delights, like the Raspberry Beret, a 4.5abv Sour, or the Pride and Joy, a 5.3abv Hoppy Malty marvel, or Heart and Soul, a sessionable 4.4abv tangy IPA.

Sad I know, but I bought a Life and Death t-shirt, which isn't helping me focus on my writing.

Vocation & Co. is, worth travelling for. Roll on more horrendous weather, we could be stranded here for ages...

Oh, and Maya is really very cute - keeping her cool...

I am great lover of Vocation. It's possibly the best brewery in the UK. I cannot say the same for its bar in Hebden. My friends and I travelled to Hebden specifically to try some of the stouts that are notoriously hard to find where we live. On ordering 3 of the Imperial Kirsch beers (one each), we were told that they would only serve us one and we'd have to share as they are too strong and we wouldn't be able to handle them. I fail to understand the logic of the bar. Why market yourself as a brewer of stronger craft beers but then refuse to serve them to paying customers in your bar? Generally, the staff were rude and obnoxious from the start. We went in early and booked a table for later as they were full, despite having several seats available in the bar area. On asking about whether these seats would be available for us to have a quick drink, we were met with a patronising comment from the staff along the lines of "I've already told you we're full, do you not think I would have sat you already if I could?" The bar staff show what can be only described as disdain for their customers. I appreciate that the current climate cannot make for pleasant working environments. However, frustration should never be directed at the consumer. I would remind Vocation of its obligations under section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Whatever our experience was of the service provided, it was hardly carried out with reasonable...

A fantastic place in a great location. Staff are super friendly, very attentive, knowledgeable about the beers and want to make sure you have a good experience. This is a specialist craft beer venue, and their extensive range is great, something for everyone from porters, fruit beer, IPAs etc (they even had a raddler on when we went). Absolutely fantastic value. Food was delicious, it's a compact menu (as it's more bar food to accompany the beer than an actual restaurant), however most people should be able to eat here, even with veggie and vegan options. It's well priced and super delicious, portion size on chips is really good as well. Venue looks fantastic, really bright and modern, spaces inside and out, bar, booths and more... Also great atmosphere and a really friendly crowd as well. Would really recommend and a destination if you're ever in the area.

Edit: Just went back and saw their new menu, at £16 FOR JUST A BURGER (no chips either) we will absolutely not be coming back as we're locals who can't afford that kind of price rise. What the hell? ---++ Usually the food here is sooo good but the festive menu sucks right now. The vegan festive burger was the same price as the (non vegan) buttermilk burger but is incredibly sad in comparison (see photos). It looked and tasted like something I could slap together at home from the freezer section, compared to the equally priced and generously large meat counterpart. Additionally both meals came with roast potatoes and a tiny amount of gravy. The roasties didn't taste like much at all and sadly contributed to the worst meal I've had here so far. Overall, come here for the burgers but give the festive menu a miss because it does not live up to expectations.
