Waite & Rose Café — Restaurant in Cambridge

Over the weekend, my family and I visited a branch that we had been looking forward to, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We placed our order using the device, which felt impersonal and reminded us of fast-food chains like McDonald's. When our order arrived, the waiter abruptly requested the number placard back, which felt rushed.

To our surprise, two of the items we received were not what we had ordered. For example, we ordered a chocolate croissant muffin but received a cinnamon croissant instead. Additionally, one of the cake slices we wanted was unavailable, and we ended up with a cookie instead. We were disappointed that we couldn’t get a refund or a suitable substitute for the cake slice. The latte was not frothey and the cappuccino was cold, Overall, this visit didn’t meet our expectations, and we feel it may be best for us to explore other locations in the future. The coffee and cakes and food are good at a fair price.

It's now May 2025 and the electronic screens have gone, so you can at least discuss choices with the staff. The cafe has been redecorated which is nice.

The menu is still not as comprehensive as it once was, and you can't make changes, well, no significant changes.

Free WiFi works fine, good, because mobile coverage is poor away from the windows....

The opening times on line suggest the cafe is open until 7pm. We went there especially (after being at Addenbrookes) and arrived just before 6 to find a barrier up and saying it is closed. Please up date your website with any last minute temporary changes to opening. It will only take...
