We were rushed to get our order taken even though we were the only table in the whole restaurant. No one was wearing masks when serving us. The owner then decided to sit with her child on the table next to ours and had their food, the child was playing a game on their phone which was extremely loud and made it hard for our table of three to hear each other.
I ordered vegetarian food, my two friends who I was with ordered meat based food. When the starters were given to us the meat and vegetarian things were all in one plate, the waitress pointed out which was the vegetarian stuffed bread thing and when I took a bite into it, it was pork. I felt like throwing up, I had to exit the restaurant to spit on the floor and take a breather as I felt so sick. When I went back into the restaurant they gave me no apology at all.
When we finished eating, no one came up to ask if we wanted anything else or wanted to pay. We were originally going to order desert but at this point we just wanted to leave. We tried paying and they asked us to BANK TRANSFER them money. This does not sound like a legal thing to do. At this point I just gave them cash as I didn’t want to have an argument.
I used to recommend this restaurant to everyone, now I’ll be making sure no one goes there. The service was disgusting, the staff were rude and unapologetic. Worst experience I’ve ever had, I would NOT recommend this place. Especially for...
Read moreI don’t know if they’ve changed owners or something but this place has really gone downhill in the past year.
This used to be my favourite place to eat. You could get a delicious hot meal for a good price. A main and a side for less than £12 and the service was always lovely. I would often go multiple times a week and take all my friends with me. I went in today hoping to get dumplings (£8.80) and tofu slices (£6.50) but couldn’t afford it so I just got veggie dumplings and paid £10.30. They ask for cash with a card minimum of £20, but what’s the point if the prices are so high?
Now, Their prices are astronomical. Side dishes start from £6 (£6 for a cucumber slices is surely too much) and you can’t get a portion of dumplings for less than £8.50, it’s £1.50 extra to have it fried. I understand increasing the price of the food but charging £1.50 to fry it is unnecessary.
When they first increased the price, I accepted it. Inflation is at an all time high and independent businesses need the most support. But then it increased again and again, and then the quality dropped. The food no longer has that soul warming flavour.
My review has sadly gone from a strong 5 to a 2, and that’s just because I couldn’t bring myself to give them a 1. I really hope they go back to their old ways for the sake of...

WHAT I HAD (Takeaway): Cold-Dressed Hot and Sour Vermicelli (Vegan) £6.50]; Dumplings with eggplant and paprika filling (Vegan) [£6.50; Dumplings with tofu and celery filling (Vegan) £6.00
Heard that this place has good dumplings. So, I finally got the chance to get some takeaway from here when I was in the area. The place is quaint with tables arranged quite close together. So, probably not the best to go with a big group. It was packed when I was there. The staff were helpful. I had the cold-dressed hot and sour vermicelli, eggplant & paprika dumplings and tofu & celery dumplings. The dumplings were good, I did think the skins were a bit too mushy (it could be that it got soggy because I had it to takeaway). I didn’t quite enjoy the eggplant & paprika dumpling because of the bitter aftertaste I got. The hot and sour vermicelli was thick, chewy and spicy. I loved that they topped it with some pak choi and carrots to add some crunch.
Overall, cheap and pretty good dumplings and noodles! It might’ve been better had I not had the food to takeaway, so I definitely hope to dine...
