Appalling customer service, told by the manager to "control your child".
We're a family of 6 with two young children (4 year old and 18 month old). We've been to Merhaba on a Saturday afternoon, a time when the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The staff weren't the most welcoming bunch but we were keen on trying the place. Just after we'd ordered the food, our daughter accidentally dropped the black pepper shaker and it broke to pieces. An honest, unintentional accident that we apologised for. The manager witnessed the incident and, shaking his head, picked up one piece of the shattered glass, leaving the rest under our table untouched. He continued to serve the other tables turning a blind eye to the safety hazard that lied beneath the table. When we requested for someone to clear up the broken glass, the manager approached us furiously saying, and I quote "what do you want me to do? You should control your child"
How dare he talk to us in that matter? How dare he tell any parent how to raise their child? Were we happy that our daughter broke a piece of glassware? Of course not! accidents happen every where.
Needless to say we left the place immediately, offering to pay for the broken black pepper shaker and telling the manager that we'll be writing a negative review of this restaurant because of his unacceptable behaviour with us. His response? "Do whatever you want to do."
If you're not valued and respected as a customer, then this place is not worth your time and money.
We'll be warning our friends and colleagues of the treatment we got today and surely never setting a foot in this...
Read more3 Out of the 5 times I have been in this place, the staff are really rude, low energy and unhelpful. Act as if you're inconveniencing them. Today I very politely asked for some medical dietary requirements which involved them having to leave some items out (wheat) to be met and the guy was really difficult about it. I tried several times to politely get his co-operation but he continue with attitude and being petulant. Place was empty, you'd have thought they'd make more of an effort, so we walked out, not surprised it is empty. 3 times of poor behaviour too many and there are other better places.
I can never understand why people with an attitude problem work in restaurants / service. Why not get a job in a kitchen or a warehouse or something?
We went to Efes who were really welcoming and didn't make a big deal about my request. Service from brothers there always top notch.
Food at MBBQ is pretty average anyway and really expensive for quality. They have also reduced their portion sizes as well as increasing their prices. You'd live with that for good service, but that is rarely available.
I'd recommend Efes or Carlos Bbq on mill road over this place any day of the week.

Read moreOrdered through Deliveroo, we expected the food to be very good quality as the restaurant is expensive, £14.95 for a mixed grill, total bill was almost £50 for 2 mixed grills and 2 sides. The food arrived cold, the calamari tasted horrible and was a strange grey colour, the sauce was also had a sour taste possibly had gone off. The mixed grill was cold I had to microwave mine for 2 minutes and after trying it I was not impressed, very greasy and poor quality, a couple of mouthfuls and no more!! The mixed grill also came with oven cooked chips from a supermarket! The other mixed starter was almost £9 and hardly anything in it, again very poor quality! And I couldn’t believe it when I opened up one of the salads there was a dead FLY in it!!! Absolutely disgusting and shocking, Messaged the restaurant and have had no response, Deliveroo have apologised but said they would not offer a refund, so now almost £50 out of pocket for food to...
