I give them 1 star because I can't give them 0. We made a dinner reservation for Christmas, there were 12 of us. We were emailing for a whole week and it was very chaotic. The reservation was around 8pm. Dinner day came and we ordered some drinks and then we started tdeciding what to order. Someone could order food through the mobile app, and suddenly no one else could - the kitchen closed at 9. NOBODY warned us about this, I could understand it if they were busy but the restaurant was EMPTY. We went to talk to the manager/the person in charge and she just repeated: the kitchen closes at 9. I wanted to let her know my frustration for not even giving a warning (the restaurant was EMPTY). I told her that the problem was NOT the closing of the kitchen, the problem was 0 customer service, the lack of empathy and respect of not even looking me in the eye while giving me an "explanation". We found ourselves on a Friday with our supposed Christmas dinner WITHOUT DINNER, and without apologies, on the contrary, the person was as rude as she could. I can't just understand why they take the booking, put drinks to us and then assume that we didn't want to order food. It's the most ironic situation in years. Definitely we are not coming back. Also I will let all my...

Today's visit was rather disappointing. I was seated near the bar area and I couldn't help but notice how loud and unprofessional the staff were being. Most of the time they were all gathered around the bar making non work-related chit chat and laughing loud enough to drown any conversation. I ended up having to literally shout over the phone to be heard by the other person in that noise. I'm all for casual work environments but they were acting like they were pub customers rather than pub employees. The pub was almost empty but it sounded like it was full of noisy teenagers. And after I have finished my meal and drink, one of the employees went out of their way to make me feel unwelcome by telling me that I can't "drink my own water in here". I was just having a few sips after finishing my alcoholic drink, it's not like I just waltzed in there to take a seat without ordering anything. I have ordered both food AND drink, and was just sitting there to work on my laptop. It's such a shame, since this could have been my regular place to get dinner after my lectures. I won't...

I was disappointed with the service. They forgot things that were meant to come with the meal - I had the vegan burger and it didn't come with the coleslaw or cheese in the burger, as it said on the menu. I had to ask for both. I don't know if they had a new chef who didn't know the menu, or what, because we went when it was extremely quiet and no-one else was eating food. If it was really busy then I might understand an error or two, but there was no excuse for the service to be this bad. When I did get the coleslaw, it tasted old and bad, so I couldn't eat it. It was a shame as I was there for a nice meal with my girlfriend. Her food was fine, but the experience felt spoiled to me by the order being so wrong - I felt like I should have got some money back, but I was too shy to ask. I felt ripped off. The person bringing out the food seemed nice and apologized for the mix up, I felt bad for them. The drinks (tap water) were okay and the burger itself was good, but I don't think I'll be coming back any time soon. Should have just...

The Duke of Cambridge is a pub and restaurant located in Cambridge , UK. It is known for its focus on sustainability and ethical food practices, and it has been certified as the UK's first organic pub. In terms of service, friendly and attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and able to provide recommendations. The atmosphere of the pub is described as warm and welcoming, with a cozy and rustic interior. The food at The Duke of Cambridge is praised for its quality and sustainability. The menu features a range of seasonal, organic, and locally sourced dishes, with options for vegetarians and vegans. Sunday roast and the selection of organic beers and wines is very enjoyable Overall, had a positive experience at The Duke of Cambridge, appreciating its commitment to sustainability, ethical food practices, and friendly service. However, it is worth noting that as with any restaurant, individual experiences may vary depending on factors such as time of day, staff, and personal preferences

Food was ok. I had the Tripple chicken sandwhich. It was a bit too Spivey for me (personal preference) and the chicken Pattie was over fried and dry. Chips were ok. There was live jazz music tonight and it was good. I'd come back to hear music and have a drink but not to eat.
