Silsila Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Cannock Chase

Silsila is our absolute favourite takeaway in Rugeley, with absolutely amazing food, and even more amazing staff.

My family have various dietary restrictions between us (namely being vegan and Coeliac/gluten intolerant), and Silsila's staff are always friendly, welcoming, helpful and incredibly accommodating. I always feel awkward having to ask for gluten free food, but the staff never make me feel like an inconvenience. They are more than happy to check the ingredients of individual dishes, make adjustments so that we can still have our favourite curries, and always ensure that there is no cross contamination from other dishes.

There aren't many restaurants or takeaways in Rugeley that are so accommodating - asking for vegan and/or gluten free food at various other restaurants has resulted in being given stuff like chilli with garlic bread mistakenly plonked on top, jacket potatoes or plain salads, and that's if they have anything we can eat at all. At Silsila we can have poppadoms, a few different starters and sundries, and plenty of different curries and sides. Obviously breads are out of the picture, but there are plenty of other things we've been able to have.

On a work night outing, the 10 of us dined at the Silsila Indian Cuisine and were very warmly created by all of the staff. All food came out on time for everyone with zero mistakes, very impressive. I foolishly chose a main that was way way way too hot for myself to handle, however the main itself was tremendous in taste. The Manager overseeing my personal struggle made sure to keep tabs on me, even going as far as having a yogurt put together in the kitchen to get me through it. Even after defeat the Manager offered another main of a less volcanic heat but insisted it had been my choice and that I did in fact love the hot main, top man. Nice food, shame about the service! We ordered online for home delivery. The food was really nice, if a tiny bit too sweet for my taste. The korma and tikka masala were particularly sweet. All the curries were tasty and full flavoured - if a little bit stingy with the meat. There was a slight issue with our order as they missed out the popodums! We werent particularly bothered about it - mistakes happen. But when I phoned them to ask about this, the guy told me they'd definitely sent them out and basically implied I was making it up; ending with "I'll just have to take your word for it".
