East Goscote Fish Bar — Restaurant in Charnwood

Visited here for the first time last night as a friend of mine recommended it to me, and I can say it didn't disappoint, the fish was cooked perfectly and had lovely crispy batter, the portion sizes were also very generous, the curry sauce was of decent quality and the people running the show were kind and polite. Despite the appearance and area of the place, it was quite a pleasant find, only thing I could have a negative comment on would be that we wasn't given the option to not have a bag as we were charged for it, however this is minor, I'd highly recommend as it is very good value for money and I would love it if they could deliver also, I'd...

3 stars for atmosphere it is a takeaway fish and chip shop. It also sells kebabs, burgers, pies etc. At first you may think it's quite expensive but the portions are huge I bought two small cod in batter and one portion of chips, there was enough chips for four people and I'm afraid we two were unable to finish them, perhaps I'll order two "cones" of chips next time to avoid waste! The staff were friendly and helpful but would only accept cash, directing those with cards only to a nearby cash machine. I had to wait for my fish and chips to cook about 10 to 15 minutes but was worth the wait for the red hot fresh...

Popped into EG chip shop tonight, The menu has been expanded and the shop was so clean and the staff all very friendly and efficient. I opted for the peri peri wings.. they were absolutely delicious. Really well cooked with the outside crispy and the inside juicy. None of those super skinny wings with no meat on either. Outstanding !
