The White Slice — Restaurant in Charnwood

I have been using the white slice since before it became the establishment it is now, in fact since when the original owner/proprietor opened it, some 36, give or take, years ago. I no longer live in East Goscote but when I visit relatives I always go in and pick up various sorts of food. Today, I was totally humiliated by a member of their staff. I went in approx 15 mins before closing time and asked if there was any chance of two cobs to take away, a very lovely lady told me she could only do cold ones, which was fine by me. Whilst she was serving, another employee, who I can only describe as having short spiked hair, a tan, and was of senior years to myself, came and spoke to a younger member of staff who was cleaning out the hot water/soup boilers and asked her, loudly, if I was a man or a woman. I have short hair, and am of a large build, but am very obviously a woman, my anatomy proves that on sight. If I hadn't had already ordered food for my relatives I would have left immediately, however they were relying on me. I have never been so humiliated in my life. Worst of all she sniggered as she said it and when I looked over at her on hearing her rude and somewhat abusive comment, she made a vain attempt to change the subject, badly. Food is good, but staff need sorting. If you want to be humiliated for not fitting a stereotype, then go for it. In the mean time Choo Choos now...

Yesterday I had a sausage and bacon with mayo on a sofa white cob and it was OK.... But today I had a BLT with mayo on a soft white cob and it was amazing.... definitely going to get the BLT again.
