I am an avid lover of RKD and often visit, however a recent experience has made me feel a bit unwelcome. I can give credit where credits due, the food was absolutely delicious. Super impressed with the quality of the food, was great value for the price and just beautifully presented. The service of the two ladies at the counter was really disappointing, one younger lady didn’t speak once and made coffees while there was 3 of us waiting at the till, she didn’t tell us that she couldn’t take orders and was waiting for someone else to return to take our order, obviously we didn’t know this before so it just felt like we were being ignored. Then a blonde lady came behind to take our order and whilst she was service the two customers in front of me she was seemed quite intolerant and if I’m honest she seemed like she didn’t want to be there. when I asked for my order I felt like I was annoying the blonde lady she just came across quite snappy with me I’ve been to RKD many times and always been met with a smile (especially the lovely gentleman with the glasses), however I felt as if I was met with an unwelcoming attitude recently. I’ve worked in customer service over my many years of working and I can understand what it’s like to have a bad day, however it really put me off the experience. I just maybe think the staff need to remember a positive welcome makes positive customer experience so I thought I’d just give that feedback and I hope nothing came across as rude. And I’m so sorry I don’t...
Read moreAs my wife and I stepped into Rustic Kitchen in Mountsorrel to celebrate my birthday with brunch, we were immediately captivated by the stunning decor. Despite it being a weekday, the place buzzed with activity, a testament to its popularity. We appreciated the option of seating upstairs, adding to the charm of our experience.
Opting for the English breakfast sans black pudding but with an extra hash brown, we were delighted when our food arrived promptly. The hash brown was a standout, adding an extra layer of indulgence to our meal. However, the only slight disappointment was the size of the tea servings, as we found them a tad small.
Nevertheless, the quality of the food more than made up for any minor shortcomings. The flavors were rich, the ingredients fresh, and each bite was a testament to the kitchen's skill and dedication to culinary excellence.
Upon receiving the bill of £37.95 for the two of us, we felt it was a fair price considering the overall experience and the delectable fare we had enjoyed. Rustic Kitchen in Mountsorrel truly delivered a memorable birthday brunch, leaving us eager to return for more culinary delights...
Read moreAbsolute gem of a place. We ate in or should l say 'kerbside', it was busy but plenty of helpful staff, we waited for our hot food but we were prewarned of the wait time.
Some what quirky menu in places which for me made it even more interesting. I had their take on eggy bread with bacon and syrup, l think it was called eggy custard bread and you had a choice of toppings from pears, nuts or bacon (l can't remember exactly). My husband had a cheese, ham and homemade pickle sandwich topped with what they call mon-ster munch -different and delicious.
We also brought varies goodies home, black pudding scotch egg and regular scotch egg and to our delight the egg was still runny so cooked to absolute perfection! The vegetarian roll and sausage roll again delicious -lots of filling with a thin layer of perfect pastry and finally desserts; my husband is yet to eat his egg custard tart but l couldn't resist my peach and prosecco cake, the photo doesn't do it justice, it was an absolute treat 😋.
NOTE: l have based the price for our brunch and not...
