Greggs — Restaurant in Chelmsford

Terrible customer service, no organisation during busy periods, cannot keep up with the lunch rush, stock always seems to be running low.

Today I watched them add trays of pizza to the oven when they were nearly fully stocked in the display case, but they were running behind by about 25 minutes on serving sausage rolls. They were then unable to serve sausage rolls to the customers in the order they sold them. I saw one poor woman query the wait, she'd been stood there a while as people behind in the queue were served their food, and the staff shouted at her until she stopped talking. When the sausage rolls came out they were handed out at random and both me and the other women who had been waiting longest were served after others who had been waiting less. I didn't query it though because I'd already seen them shout at another customer and didn't fancy an earful.

The wait was made worse when, after already selling out the next two batches, one of the staff made a comment about putting another tray in, but no one bothered to. Seemed to be one poor member of staff doing all the moving and the others just milling around or working at a...

Today I visited Greggs at ,Moulsham Lodge, Chelmsford. I walked up to the counter ,smiled at the lady assistant and paused .She just glared at me with a miserable look. I ordered my food , which she bagged and placed on the counter. I thanked her very much. She still glared and asked anything else. I smiled again and said " a little smile would be nice", expecting her face to crack into a smile but no , she just stared. I paid and thanked her again , and asked her , had someone upset her ? She just managed to push a no out of her mouth. I wished her " enjoy the rest of your day" and left. I didn't get her name but I think she was African with a double bun on her head ...Her service...

I went in to pick up something healthy and a sensible size as I am trying to watch calorie intake i thought i would give this new gregs a try. Omelette options sold out both sizes. So went for a bacon roll instead but they were out of rolls, but they did have the larger more expensive baguette, which I ended up purchasing instead annoyed as it cost more and was bigger than I wanted, but I was in there so I brought it and gave half away. I won't bother with that Greg's again I will go to my normal choice on the market, who don't run out...
