Without a doubt the worst dining experience I have ever had.
Sat down at a dirty table and decided what food to order, then went up to the bar at 7.45pm to order food. The drink I ordered off the menu wasn’t available and a friend’s meal wasn’t available at all. Starter came out half hour later, mine was fine but another friend ordered the pulled pork tacos but this was just a tiny lump of meet between two tortillas and was terrible.
We then proceeded to wait until 9.15 (1 hour and a half after ordering) for our food, we asked the waitress when it was going to arrive and she said in the next couple of minutes. She then proceeded to say that whoever ordered criss cross chips that they weren’t available (just to state that this was an hour and a half after ordering that we were informed about this). The food came out and first impressions says it all, the whole meal was cold, cheese wouldn’t even melt in the burger, chips seemed to have been cooked a few times, burgers were dry and overcooked, half of the things which were supposed to be with the meal weren’t included, we were giver 4 sets of cutlery for 6 people, 2 napkins and the starters plates were still sitting there from about 45 mins prior. Some of us braved a bite but we all turned the food away and asked for a refund.
The lady serving (who we thought was the manager) was very apologetic and completely agreed with everything we were saying and went to organise a refund for us all. We was informed that the starters and the drink we had ordered wouldn’t be refunded which I can kind of understand but thought as a good will gesture this may have been refunded due to awful meal and time we had all wasted.
I can’t actually begin to describe how ashamed I am of the food and would strongly suggest that the kitchen is actually closed due to food they are serving. Also to add there was only one other table eating and they had the exact same thoughts as us about food, we couldn’t work out why the food took so long to be cooked as there was only us eating.
Once we had complained we then had to wait for a further half hour just to receive our money back, the manager didn’t either bother to show their face for an apology and left the poor girl who had only been working there since Monday to deal with this issue.
All 6 of us will make sure to pass on the shocking experience...
Read moreEDIT: Under the current ownership waited over 1 hour for meals with very few customers (about 10 individuals most not eating) bar staff very inexperienced and food quality was not the best. Manageress not remotely interested, happy to sit at the bar drinking with friends. Had to argue for a refund on frozen cheesecake. Hope this is a one off. Will not be visiting again for a while. Taken 1 star off.
For those who have not tried a Flaming Grill pub. There is a wide range on the menu, staple small meals at around the £6 mark as well as grill combinations of chicken, mixed grill and steaks at the more expensive price range. There are also Flaming challenges which offer great value for money, you also get a certificate and your mug shot on the wall if you successfully defeat the challenge and clear your plate (without help). There are many TVs usually showing live sports there is a pool table and generally good facilities including a disabled toilet just ask for the key. The pub also boasts a Wacky Warehouse upstairs for the children to play in, also hosting birthday parties which a lot of other pubs cannot match. I'm not to sure that the tables for dining are set out very well, certainly the table we were at yesterday was wobbly from the top to its legs, needed some glue and the chair I sat in was fairly second hand. My Mother in law loved coming here, my wife liked the Porky Pig Grill which seems to have dropped off the menu. I'm sure they used to do the most wonderful cajun onion rings. One time I ate here I complemented the chef for the chilli, it was amazing. All in all a good place to come for a drink with a fair selection of quality beers, Guinness extra cold and extra cold premium lagers or bring the family for a meal. Generally best to book in advance as at the usual busy times for dining it does get...
Read moreHonestly the worst place too eat in, didn't think it could get any worse then it already was back 2 years ago, manager and staff very moody and not welcoming, long faces like slapped a**, ready rude, placed a order at 17.00pm nothing came out so I went too the bar too which a chef explained there's been no order made obviously it was but he was too busy standing in the bar with the managers too busy chatting so they forgot we ordered!? No apology or no compensation on the meal, which they knew we had a screaming 1 year old hungry waiting for his food, 1 hour later they finally got our food too the table, horrible and very bland, garlic bread just taste like a burnt out oven and chips wasn't cooked properly, the cheese they gave on the chips was a tiny dab, paying £4.50 for what? Kids meal the mash my son had was very very dry and lumpy and the sausages was burnt too a crips never will I step foot into that place again until new management take over as this is the 2nd time we have had trouble with this place. Take yiur money too another green king or what not as this place is...
