Moda Restaurant — Restaurant in Chelmsford

Unfortunately I had a bad experience at the Moda restaurant .

My husband and I had already eaten there and because we liked our first experience so much, we decided to take friends and my in-laws who’d come from Brazil to visit us.

Sadly, we were very poorly attended. We were going to order some things to start, and then order more things to follow, but our waitress treated us with prejudice saying it was not fair we had occupied 10 chairs and ordered little food, that the restaurant would make little profit and so she needed to know our order to judge whether or not she’d serve us! Needless to say, I was absolutely astonished.

Terrible service, and prejudice against your customers. (I'll never go back, and if I can, I'll stop people from going there.)

It doesn't make sense for you to tell me that, if I go anywhere to eat regardless of what the meal is, what fits me at that moment should be served. How are you sure we would save?

The people who were there had never been to your restaurant, they wanted to taste it first and then they would order more things, as we had already arranged. Only drinks that we ordered at the beginning were already 10 drinks. Prejudiced, and rude. We went on a Saturday around 4:00 p.m. there was no person in your restaurant, it was two children and a baby, the children already eat little and should not count on them. If you want customers, start treating them well.

I don't recommend it anymore.

We went into the restaurant last minute to have a nice meal we was greeted bye a lovley older woman serving ordered our drinks perfect then we asked if we could have some bread while we looked at the menu to witch this is the point they got funny and she kept pressuring me to order when in fact I was not ready to do so I refused so she walked away huffing and puffing 3 minute's later the chief walked out with the bread and rudely asked what I wanted to order to witch this point I was ready so I placed my order witched was mixed grill and chicken shish and 3 starters but I asked for the halloumi to be cut in half so it was thin as I don't like how it's so thick and the chief agreed but not happy and made me feel like I can't ask for this when he come out with the starters he did not cut this is half as I asked he just cut the these into pieces and I barely got a portion considering your ment to get 4 but I wanted it cut in half so it should of been 8 so I asked for this to be changed to were he arrupted and started shouting and swearing saying he was to busy and he would not do as I wanted then he starts shouting in his language to his colleagues I said as a customer I should be aloud to ask for something like we are paying customers this I was made to feel not welcome at all and threatened bye the management and the chief as we walked out the ladie who Sat us down the older ladie apologised she new the way he acted was wrong and they have no care for customer service do not...

Now... I ain’t much of a food critic and believe me when I say that I don’t normally do reviews but this place is serious stuff. First the decor is simple and elegant with good lighting, good ambient music and good staff giving it a friendly, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere well done.

The food: Its a must have. The Mixed Shish jam packed with flavor and very well presented, meat was cooked to perfection which got me wondering if maybe it was a coincidence they’ve got it so perfect. Today I’ve revisited this place, this time for take away and guess what!?! The same excellent service and quality of food was presented again. The meat is nice and succulent the salad itself tastes as if the vegetables were picked at that exact moment just for you. I’m not kidding.

The Drinks: Very reasonably priced wine list, good range of choice on beers, spirits and cocktails.

The Bill: What bill!?! I’ve paid more on service charges than I have for my meal with my family here.

Overall: this is one of the best restaurants in Chelmsford. 10/10
