Our first visit to the Spice Lounge coincided with it being their Wednesday Banquet Night. The menu for the occasion was restricted when compared to their main menu but it offered quite a degree of choice which was enhanced by flexibility which allowed choosing between sides or rice. Nominally the menu is divided into sections: Starters; Mains, Sides and Rice. If a rice dish is not wanted, two sides can be selected. For us it worked very well and we were delighted with the food, it was very good, as was the service. The price can only be described as very reasonable and the atmosphere was fine too, the score given because I could still remember my last visit there - when it was still a pub, The Carpenters Arms. Can’t praise this place enough! We went last night for a family meal and from the moment we arrived we were looked after. I had my elderly grandad with me who the waiters helped to seat and were so lovely. We could not fault the food and the ammount you get for the price is actually unbelievable. We ended up having to take most of it home! The restaurant is clean and has a lovely feel to it. Everything feels high end and it appears money has been spent to open this place to a high standard. The staff were so friendly and one was dancing to the music which we loved to see. It was infectious to see someone so happy. We will definitely return and I will be telling everyone...
