Subway — Restaurant in Chelmsford

The staff in this subway are fantastic. They are so helpful, courteous and genuinely lovely. I visited here on Sunday 20/8/23 around 13:00. There was a queue at the time which I don’t mind as it shows it’s well used so much be good, so they apologised for my wait, they made the sandwiches with care and overall their customer service just made me smile from ear to ear. The food was also really fresh and the place really clean. I have ate in subway before but the staff were great at clearing down. It’s not often you find a bunch of staff like that, I have visited other fast food establishments and hardly got a smile, a word or anything that resembles a conversation. So it actually made my day at our visit to this subway. We were 6 hrs from home so ate here as it was on our way to the motorway. Massive thanks to your team. They all worked well and were very thankful for their customers. I went to the Subway store today, and honestly, I was beyond frustrated. While the place was clean and the staff seemed pleasant at first, that’s where the positives ended. The guy who made my sandwich was ridiculously stingy with the toppings. I asked for sweetcorn and onions, and what did I get? Seven measly pieces of sweetcorn and three sad little onions. I even asked for more, and it still wasn’t enough. The sandwich was barely filled.

Then, to make matters worse, I decided to sit outside, but there wasn’t a single bin around, despite having around 30 seats outside. How does a new store overlook something so basic? I had to go inside to throw away my trash, and guess what? The bin was overflowing. It’s clear they don’t have their act together. With so many staff members working, the labor is clearly mismanaged. This store needs some serious training and better planning for basic things like waste disposal. Really...

Our Granddaughter's favourite place for lunch is Subway so we called in at the Little Waltham branch (lunch time Friday). Very kind and helpful staff prepared her "best yet" sub meal. Then arriving home my husband found he had left his phone in his coat at the shop. Called them, the manager had the coat and kept it safe til we were able to return.
