We have frequented Ovishers several times over the last few years and have used Ovishers for our Christmas lunch for the last three years...However, this last Christmas lunch was disappointing and we won't be returning...I booked our table online, and in writing in September, so plenty of notice, I also contacted Ovishers on the day online, so you can imagine my surprise when we arrived at the restaurant with 6 other guests to find that our booking seemed to be lost, the table wasn't ready, others who came in after us were being seated before us and given menu's and drinks etc before our table was even set properly...we had to go to the bar to order our own drinks and ask for cutlery for our table, other tables were given their starters having arrived after us before we were given menus, so ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH and quietly we got up and complained, things improved slightly after our complaint, BUT you can imagine my surprise when I came to pay, to be informed at this stage (which had never happened before and I hadn't been informed on booking - remember all was in writing from both sides) that there was a set charge per person which increased the bill by £30/40. I didn't complain not wanting to spoil things for my guests given out disappointing/bumpy start to our Christmas lunch, BUT the look on the waiters face when I didn't leave a tip topped it all. Read moreDo not order if you have an allergy. We ordered a delivery which contained fish bhuna curry and asked for it to be made with salmon as not permitted to eat the Bangladeshi fish. The top on the container said salmon but the container definitely wasn't. When I phone to say they'd been an error they had the audacity to say that I was incorrect. I asked them to remake the item but they continued to say I was incorrect. I asked for a refund. Agreed, and for the food to be left outside to be collected. Then a phone approx 10 minutes later to organise my refund and still stating I was incorrect as a 'new customer'. All their previous customers know this is 'salmon'. Stated the colour change is due to the marinade. It is impossible as we only ordered the food 30 minutes earlier. Child took one mouthful and said this doesn't taste of salmon. 15ish minutes later they were complaining of a bad stomach. I offered to email photos more than once, but they had no interest as said they have cameras in the kitchen and knew there had been no error. I'm concerned they need cameras in their kitchen monitoring their workers. I will never eat food from this...
Read moreAstounded by the shocking customer service, group of 10 of us weren't even given menus for 45 minutes despite asking 3 times, starters came out quick but after an hour of waiting we asked where the mains were and got ignored, asked if we could have our food in to go boxes due to the wait, when we finally got the food a, further 30 minutes later, it was missing a main and multiple sides. All 4 staff members ignored us most the night, no apologies for the delay or any update on how long it would be (the restaurant wasn't overly busy). They seemed perplexed that we were unhappy with the service, never been treated with such disrespect in a restaurant! An 8pm booking and we eventually left at 10.30 without having eaten, would give 0 stars if...
