Delhi 41 — Restaurant in Chesterfield

Food is usually good but service is utterly incompetent and the worst I’ve ever had. We’ve been to the restaurant and ordered takeaway from Delhi 41. Sitting in is fine. Don’t bother ordering takeaway.

Food has been very good whenever we have been there but I have never had WORSE customer service. Staff were rude when we asked for table to dine in but otherwise okay. But we ordered delivery only to wait TWO HOURS with no sign of food. When we rang to enquire, we were met with rudeness and lack of answers about when it would be ready. They then hung up on us. Fair enough it was New Year’s Eve, you expect delay but not rudeness and incompetence (when the food came we were missing multiple items). We gave them benefit of the doubt and ordered again, this time a random Sunday in April. Online order was accepted and money taken only for us to receive a phone call saying they couldn’t deliver to our address- it was ‘too far’ despite being in their delivery range. So we offer to pick up. They hesitate and offer to call back with a pick up time, only to call back and tell us ‘we’re a bit busy so we can’t give you a time to come pick it up’ with very little reassurance they would process a refund let alone when we would receive it.

My advice is go elsewhere. Food at Shipon is as good if not better and the customer service is immaculate. We will never use Delhi 41 again and will make a point of encouraging others...

My latest visit was to collect a takeaway, it had been ordered and I was told it would be ready to be collected in half an hour. Just enough time to get there to collect. Yep, perfect timing, discount applied and on getting home I had a beautifully cooked meal, just as good as what I had in the restaurant the last time I was there.

Keep up the good work and I'm already planning my next visit. 👍👌 sorry no photos this time, I ate my food that quickly that I forgot to take any 🙄

Having ordered a chicken tikka masala, mushroom rice and a garlic naan. I got it home and discovered that the curry was duller red in colour than usual. On tasting it I was surprised at how hot the curry sauce was, the level of spice was by far hotter than I have ever tasted. It left me sweating while I ate it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to contact them to return it as I was due out shortly after. I don't know what has happened at Delhi 41 but I will be thinking twice before going there for my next chicken tikka masala take away. The same night I woke up on multiple occasions feeling sick and I fully believe that it was the over spiced curry a tikka masala is meant to be a mild curry.

I've always had a good meal from here, I hope that they can get back to how they were...

Was shocked. Went there first time about 2/3 Weeks ago.was absolutely brilliant. Not too busy good service and friendly. Went last night first of all tried to put me on a single table just far to small. Then offered me a position upstairs which I appreciated. We ordered our starters mains etc. Around 15 minutes later our starters arrived. Mixed tandoori special for me . I looked at it and thought looked very undercooked . I but into the kebab and was cold and I then went to the toilet to dispose of it . I called the waiter and he offered to change it. So waiting again. Amazingly after 2 minutes my food arrived . I said that was quick bit into it again same result COLD. I said jokingly I bet your just put it in the microwave rather than cook it fresh herbs then said yes I put it in trouble microwave . I then got up and decided to leave and told the waiter it wasn't acceptable . He said well we are a little busy so couldn't make it fresh again and put it in the microwave which I couldn't belive also he was very rude. I was shocked so left the premises .
