The Star Of Sall — Restaurant in Chesterfield

This is our third visit to this restaurant. The first visit was excellent for both food and service. The second visit was excellent for the food but was let down by the service.This was because the waitress in question had too much to do. Our third visit was the worst. Once again the food was good but the service this time I'm sorry to say was pretty bad. The reason, the waitress was on her own and she had a lot of diners to deal with plus attending to "Takeaways" and people paying their bills. Our starters arrived on one plate, should have been on two individual plates. Got apology but not acceptable. We never had a dessert or another drink as she never returned to our table although she was at the counter all the time, she never once looked over at us so we left. I did inform her we were unhappy. When busy this restaurant needs more waiters. Needless to say we won't be going back as our evening out was spoilt completely. Excellent food let down by...

A party of 20 of us went on Friday, 9th of May, and to be fair, most of the food was very nice. Mine however was not, I ordered a Salmon curry dish. All the food came together, but mine was definitely not Salmon. I asked the waiter if he had given me the wrong dish as this is not what I ordered. he replied, "but it is fish", I repeated my question, and again he said it was not Salmon but it was fish though. I asked what kind of fish it was, and he could not tell me as he did not knows.Surely this should have been been mentioned to me that there was no Salmon available when I ordered, and not expect me to eat anything that I was presented with.They did ask if I wanted to order something else, but by now everybody was eating, and as we had waited about 40 mins for all the food to come, | was not prepared to wait again, by then everyone else would have finished eating.

Absolutely disgusting place, first impressions on entering the place, "Damp" it smelt like a fusty old house.. The atmosphere was like a morgue an at the same temperature. The guy that served us was very warm and polite, about the warmest thing in there. We ordered our meal with the guy taking our order then coming back five minutes later stating the a ingredient to one of the dishes was out of stock. We agreed that it wouldn't be a problem and our meals came. My friends meal was hot and looked nice. My own wasn't like what I expected it resembled a Chicken Tikka when I ordered a Chicken Bhuna. It was passable and was warm but with the environment we were in didn't last long.. The Bill was a reasonable amount but I am sure I won't be...
