The Britannia — Restaurant in Chesterfield

Called in Monday afternoon about half 3, for a pause in our daily walk with our dog Maddy, we live about a mile away from the 'Brit'. A proper pub, no food on offer but who cares, beer excellent, we sat outside in the sunshine for almost an hour and watched the world go by, good quality and friendly service by the barmaid. One of the usual beers on offer is Stones bitter (originally a Sheffield brew) and was in great condition. Locals friendly and we felt welcome and safe. Toilets clean and tidy. Plenty of room inside the pub for when the weather is inclement, dogs are welcome inside ('Ralph' was in attendance). What a fantastic accommodating pub. I work at Ability health and social care we do regular visits and the staff are so approachable. They are very patient and as a community pub they have no prejudices. If anything the staff at the Britannia go the extra mile for us and make our weekly visits an enjoyable...
