The Tap House — Restaurant in Chesterfield

AWFUL

My wife has had a very traumatic year and the first time she has been able to take herself out with friends and she gets treated with the following.

To be told by the bar lady that her dress was a clash of colours and that she didn't like it but give her an hour and she might like it I find truly disgusting.

No one should be made to feel like this at any point on there night out. An individual should be allowed to wear and express themselves how they wish and for the bar lady to go out of her way to make someone feel so anxious and insecure is horrible. No one has the right to make an individual feel this way.

To top it off they were out celebrating a friends 40th and to be told in a BAR that they didn't want to encourage the buying of shots just does not make sense. They are not rowdy individuals and we're just looking to have a nice time. They don't like you purchasing shots as they do not encourage there behaviour.

That's 10 ladies who's money has been lost and word of mouth...

Very nice inside with an interesting selection of ales and ciders. The staff were friendly and efficient.

The decor is clean and fits the premises well. I would describe the decor as that fitting an old English pub. It is very similar to the decor of the Tramway a little further down the road. I would say that the Tap House is nicer inside than the Tramway, not to say the Tramway is bad, just the Tap is quite clean and tidy. I think its quieter than the tramway as it seems a little smaller and more cosy.

This is definatley one of the more warm and friendly pubs on the Brampton mile.

They have a nice fire in the fire place which really warms the place up.

It's a very nice place to meet in an afternoon or early evening. I believe they may serve food but I don't...

Wonderful pub. The range and quality of beers is excellent. The staff are outstanding, they took time to remember what my friends and I had ordered and replenished our drinks without me having to name each drink. Friendly atmosphere and dog friendly. In fact even the dogs are friendly, the first one that came in, trotted over and out his head in my lap without any prompting!!!! One the most civilised and friendly pubs in...
