Very disappointing, it was like dining in an up market retirement home (nothing to do with the clientel) stilted place with no atmosphere, polite staff gliding around in pained disinterest. Menu pretty boring and overpriced for basic pub food. Cheese course £8.50, three very small finger slices of cheddar/ brie/ blue something - all of which sit in my fridge, and not anything to do with the local heritage cheese described on menu. Read moreYesterday, I had lunch at Marwick's with two friends. We all chose the fish of the day, which was plaice. The meal was beautifully presented and, though it didn't look over large, we found it very satisfying - in fact so much so that we felt we could not manage a pudding and asked if there was any chance we could just have fruit. We were then presented with a very colourful and tasty fruit salad.: the perfect end to a lovely meal.

Although the restaurant was made aware in advance that my food was to be strictly gluten free, they served up my main course with a huge dollop of couscous which is packed with gluten.
