Popped in2 this little country pub 2day. We descended on the locals, they didn't know how 2 react/accept us. But as 2 gay men, let loose on the juke box, we made a good impression. Definitely will go again! The Landlord appeared larger than life & very much up for our banter. Definitely a port of call en-route to the gay pleasures of Brighton!

Lovely pub in a great location . We stopped in today, the 3 of us had two ham egg and chips and a bacon and cheese burger . Everything was lovely. 3 clear plates . Played a few games of pool and had a nice chat with the landlord and lady . Lovely couple . We’ve been to all the pubs in the area and this one is our favourite by far .

Horrible atmosphere, no one really welcomed us! The place was cold and the waitress was rude and not just to us! As for the food, the only choices were beef or pork so we both went for beef, went it arrived, all of it was cold the beef was chewy and my gravy had massive lumps in it. Quite obvious that no one really cared. Yorkshire pubs were aunt Bessie's not homemade! We didn't get asked for sauces so I asked the waitress if I could have some apple sauce (as I hate horseradish) and she looked down her nose at me and rudely went "what with beef!!" Me and my partner couldn't believe she just said that! The most busiest day for pubs is a Sunday and there was just one other couple in there, which doesn't surprise me! Even they complained because she got served a cold coffee, the lady took it back and the same rude waitress told her she should have asked for hot milk! How about a simple hot coffee! Ropiest pub we've been too. And would tell everyone to avoid! Not even worthy...

The only good thing about this pub is the clean toilets. when my wife and I visited this pub we had just arrived from Somerset and in need of food. we sat down at the table and waited for a menu to arrive after fifteen minuets one was provided from which we ordered steak and ail pie after one and a half hours it arrived, are good we thought some food! only to find that it was so awful we could not eat it, it was tough and tasteless the vegetables were equally as bad. during our time in this pub other people who had been waiting equally as long as we had started to leave, one couple had waited over an hour for a ploughman's they left having given up that it would ever arrive. not a good experience don't bother to go there drive past and do...

When it does come to food, everyone has a individual pallet of course. But this December, on our way to Devon, we have had at last enough time to stop and pop in for a Sunday Roast. We have been very early at all and the staff did just about start to bring the carvery on. We have had pork and beef and I must say we encountered a raost that was absolutely delicious. Enormous qantities of brilliant prepared veggies were also on offer and suitable for a vegetarian. The beef was succulent and tender and very beautiful. The staff was very kind, warmingly welcome and informative about their preparations of the food. Thanks to all, we try to spend our next break at your place again. VERY...
