Update (26/10/22): Thank you for responding to my review. It is appreciated. I understand the server may have been new to the job - just to clarify she did read back the dishes when placing them on the table but mislabelled them all.
For e.g. A biryani bowl was named 'spicy rice' which was a side. The actual spicy rice was put on the tapas tray along with another side 'healthy salad' and the whole platter passed off as 'tapas'. This can have consequences as the items from different food groups (with and without allergens) were served mixed and match on a platter as well as mislabelled when placed on the table. Hence, an important observation to be reported in review. Ambience: 4/5 Comfort: 3.5/5 Food: 2/5 Service: 1.5/5 Drinks: 3/5 Value for money: 2.5/5
Walked in with family (including a child) on Tuesday night. Got a table after a short wait at the door.
Comfortable seating, nice ambience and spacious interior. Good vibe.
Ordered at table via their app using QR code. A selection of few vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dishes.
Waitress attending didn’t know what food she put on the table. Wrongly labelled all but 1/6 dishes. We had to go back to menu to figure what was what from its description.
Got us a wrong drink, minor. Got it fixed in a jiffy.
The food itself - not the best in quality. Flatbreads were rather rubbery and overdone. The vegan keema mince were overdone therefore bitter.
Overall couple of dishes were overdressed with sour dressing be it vinegar or the likes of it.
Vegan biryani bowl was decent. Halloumi burger was ordered vegan but came with non vegan coleslaw.
Kids menu had no vegan options. So had to go gluten free tapas option instead. Cheddar and sweetcorn fritters were refried and oozing oil. Not very ideal for a child.
Minor but for a nice family meal out it would’ve been nice to have the candle on the table lit. Didn’t take away any stars for this btw!
Might give it another chance on a weekend perhaps to see if quality is any better and if service is more sincere.

Read moreDisappointing palaver trying to make a group booking for Saturday 20th. Tried to book in advance but the website was faulty (not letting me select a time) so I emailed 17th. I was told the group could walk in as it wasn't over 8. I was aware it was chorley live & an extra person wanted to join, so I tried booking online anyway on the 18th & put the time as a comment as it wasn't an option. Got an email the next day saying they couldn't proceed with the booking & to ring up. I rang up. They couldn't fit me in at the time I'd booked for but could do 5PM. It was agreed they'd book it in & I agreed to ring to confirm or cancel. I rang back to confirm...to be told only 4:30 was free. I explained I'd just had to spend my lunch break chasing 7 people around to move rhem to the 5PM booking, as I'd been told I had the slot. I was then told someone had booked before me (unsure how as the 5PM was free when I booked 🙃). In the end I cancelled and we're going to Cosmopolitan, which was really easy to book & I think the company should take note! I apologise as I was so frustrated I just said "just cancel the whole thing" & hung up. However, having spent my day accommodating the restaurant & 2 days prior trying to book,I was very frustrated. Especially when I subsequently booked a table in minutes for Cosmopolitan online.
It was just a bit shambolic. Not the staffs fault but the booking system obviously needs a lot of work! Their loss is another local businesses, as we generally spend a lot &...
Read moreMe and my wife called in to the calico lounge at Chorley today for a late breakfast and as usual every thing was really good, except for one thing when my lounge breakfast was served it had a small white enamel cup containing baked beans. When I emptied out the contents I noticed that the bottom of the cup on the inside was rusted three quarters of the way round the white enamel was completely missing. I mentioned this to one of the waitresses telling her I was fine with the food but I thought that they should know.she replied that “it is just where the paint is missing its ok” and took the cup away and that was it no apology or assurance that she would make sure it doesn’t happen again if one of my staff treated one of my customer who was only trying to help like this they would be in for some swift retraining. It makes you wonder that although front of house is really nice what discipline is in the kitchen someone has washed and dried and refilled this cup without noticing it was corroded on the inside and should have been discarded. As with all businesses the fault is not with the staff it’s with the management of the staff so get a grip and take care of busines. To me this was not a major issue the food was very nice but if my wife had been given this rusty cup their is no way that she would have...
