Been coming to the dog and partridge for many years now and always had a pleasant experience, however since the new owners took over things have gone down hill. Not a welcoming environment considering this is meant to be a place for family evenings and nice meals (which it very much was pre new owners ). Waited around 40 minutes to be served food and kept being told there was a delay due to being behind in the kitchen which is something you’d think you’d be able to manage if you were taking over a restaurant. This has happened many times but i’ve given them the benefit of doubt with them being new and finding their feet but it gets to a point and they are pushing their luck and this time we know we won’t be returning back any time soon. When we eventually got our food all i can say is it definitely isn’t worth the wait. Prawns weren’t cooked through and were borderline raw to the point where i told my husband to not eat any more, told the waitress about it who was very apologetic but at the end of the day its what goes on behind the kitchen door and if foods not being cooked fully then something needs to be done about it. I am just disappointed that a village pub has gotten to this point and it’s only the new owners fault, i watched repeatedly her telling other staff what to do and i was appalled by the way she spoke to some of them as she stood their doing nothing with a face on all night, not the warm face of someone who is suited to being front of house. I also watched the owner argue with a customer at the entrance in front of everyone about how bad the service was tonight and she was just trying to make excuses when at the end of the day there isn’t any and a commotion like that should never be created and carried on out infront of costumers. Overall won’t be returning until something changes with this establishment as it has completely deteriorated in service, food...

Definitely a place where only the regulars are acknowledged and looked after. 😡

Our experience of dining here was awful !we dined here in one of the new hubs that were supposed to be heated, it was a chilly evening so we asked could we have the heater turned up, we were told "No" because they were working towards a budget I told them that wasnt a positive from a paying customers point of view and that they should consider turning the heater up as the night progressed only to be told "Well we can't control the weather and I'm not arguing with you".😡

The seating area is not designed with children in mind as our daughter who is nine couldn't reach the table, we asked if they provided anything such as a booster seat and in turn was brought a folded up blanket!? My main upset was how the staff had the attitude of I'm not listening to you.

If you are going to penny pinch at the cost of your customers well I shall assume that you are a company that cares little about your paying customers and may I suggest that you should lower your prices. All in all it was a visit that was uncomfortable but proberbly could have been different by just turning the heater up and if you wish for happy customers, ones that will return and give good reviews stop penny pinching and seriously if your budget is so tight that you are unable to give your customers comfort don't open. 😟 None of the staff wore...

I am only giving 1 star as I can't give any less. Went for lunch for my daughters birthday, my daughter ordered the chicken and chorizo risotto, it in our opinion tasted awful sweet and very unpleasant. The waiter came over to ask if the food was OK, and I mentioned that the risotto wasn't to my daughters taste, he was pleasant and said to choose something else off the menu , which was very reasonable. Then no sooner had he left the waitress who I have not seen before came over and said we would be charged in full for the risotto, not what the waiter had said and I said this was my daughters birthday and this was ruining it and to take this approach was short sighted. She was rude, brusque and didn't know how to conduct herself. in the end she said no charge for the risotto and my daughter could choose something else, she choose a ham sandwich, this was not what she really wanted but my food was getting cold. In seconds the ham sandwich arrived, the ham was terrible quality full of fat and grisle, like she had been given the off cuts that should have been thrown away! We have been many times before and always enjoyed the food and service. But this visit was terrible and has put us off...

Found this place by searching online for good restaurants in Chorley. First time visiting here and would definitely go back. The service was excellent and the food came really quickly. I ordered the D+P dirty dog which was really tasty, well presented and had a good size portion. I fancied the hand cut chips instead of the fries and this was no problem for the staff. My friend ordered 2 starters as a main meal which were black pudding, poached egg, cheddar & pepper sauce stack which she said was absolutely fantastic. The poached egg was cooked to perfection. She also had the seared chicken livers which were also really tasty. The menu had tons of variety and I can't wait to go back and taste more dishes!! Highly recommend!

I went here just off the cuff as it looked like a nice place to have dinner. We had a half hour wait as we hadn't pre booked a table. Please ensure you call in advance to book. The staff looked after us well and although we didn't have an "eating" table we were waited on for drinks which I thought was a nice touch. I had the Stilton burger which was very nice. It's a heavy meal but I enjoyed it. My friend had a lamb dish (I can't remember the name but was in the mains section on the menu), he said it was very nice. Highly recommended and very friendly and professional staff. Car park is to the rear of the establishment.

Really good pub meal. I'm not one for the green stuff when dining out, but even I can be tempted by their salads. I may even order one next time as I have it on good authority they are really tasty. They certainly look appetising enough. On this occasion, I opted for the BBQ spare ribs and cheesy fries with added spring onions. The onions made a tasty little tweak to the cheesy chips I have had elsewhere. I was impressed. Really tasty. We visited mid week lunchtime and the pub was really busy. The car park was full so we had to park on the street but this wasn't a problem. Look forward to eating here again
