Hidden away just above the Nature Trail and Jubilee Trail that links Abbey Village to Brinscall, Woodland Cafe in Withnell, do a good breakfast with quick service and friendly. I have used both the takeaway and sat in. Always tasty, hot food and good value for money. Clean and tidy. Popular spot at lunchtime with local businesses and trades. Wanted to try out lunch. Sat for 20 min.,WE went to the counter to order,we were told they would be with is in 5 mins,sat another 20 mins,nobody came,not even to take a drink order,so we left after 40 mins. I know it's busy at lunch time,but not to even take a drinks order isn't good service,especially after we went to the counter. Prices are unbeatable,bit we can't rate the food...

Half the order was missing when the food was delivered. A 25-minute wait for the remainder of the food, which arrived cold and undercooked with the egg whites runny. I'd normally ask them to have another go, but by that time, we'd been there ages and just...
