The Red Lion at Wheelton — Restaurant in Chorley

So went to meet friends at a pub called hoghton after driving all day from the OuterHebrides and 2 boats and friends have traveled from lands end we had researched places to meet and when we got there we was told no food just no food after all that But are beautiful Friend kayl ☺️ Found THE RED LION 🦁 not tiger lion but they had stopped ✋🏻food but in like the hoghiton or what ever it's was call the RED LION said come in welcome we can cook for you no problem even welcomed kayls 😘dog in they made us feel so welcome asking would we like to play there quiz kayl😍 would of won because she has beauty an brains 🤗 No the food was amazing faultless everything we asked for and more 3 corse perfect and the hole time serves with a smile brilliant and the girl behind the bar wishing you good luck with your pregnancy Millie's a nice name 😜Would definitely recommend this place to anyone family etc it is 4mints from the motorway it made are travels worth it big thankyou to the staff of THE RED LION...

I cannot disagree more with the comments below, The service I have received over the past year from the New landlady and landlord, Claire and John, has been nothing short of brilliant, always being made to feel welcome and inviting, as all local pubs should be. I have ate there on numerous occasions for both the Sunday roast and the curry night and cannot find fault with both quality and value for money. I feel the review below is from a misery guts who just likes to find fault and complain. As for the dog comment there is a notice outside the pub stating that dogs are welcome and this should have been considered before entering if your not an animal lover. The Red Lion is still a real ale pub and still retains the masculine heritage, in parts. However what it now has is a delicious, full of flavour, healthy portioned plate of goodness! A menu that will meet all needs. The new landlord Richard has enriched this little pub beyond recognition. If the cosmetic changes continue, this pub will be a gem.
