Don't know where to begin. Not child friendly or accommodating. Service was appalling and not helpful at all. I came after ringing and booking a table informing them I had 2 young children and another adult (my grandma who is 92). Arrived and was told you're on table 12 and that was it, no direction or guidance where that was (it has 3 floors). After asking i was told "go up there and then next floor." I carried my 16 month old up with me and my 3 year old up the steep steps and tried to help my grandma up. Once up and table found, we sat for a couple of minutes before a man came over and asked for our order which I said we needed longer, he didnt seem too happy and I asked for a highchair for my daughter which he brought over eventually with an unhappy face (highchair was not stable and rocking like the screws needed tightening) Ordered food and it came quickly, childs food arrived first which is a bonus. Soup and sandwich was tasty. At the end of the meal I had sandwiches left so had to locate a member of staff to ask for a bag, asked where to pay and didn't get a response. Then we set off to go down the steep steps. My gramdma said thank you to 2 women at the kitchen and I said grandma be careful hold the railing to which one lady said "yeah dont fall we'd have to ring the fire brigade to come" (no offer of help seeing her struggle and me with my 2 children.) Not sure what the statement meant??? Went to pay and the girls with blonde hair never smiled and seemed like the world was out to get her. I was really looking forward to this place especially seeing the afternoon but im definitely giving it a miss and you should too if you have children or struggle to...
Read moremy self and my wife and our two really well behaved small clean dogs visited this cafe on sunday afternoon, we both felt like were tiptoeing on eggshells as we were approached immediately by the owner and told not, asked to keep the dogs under the table is this place dog friendly or not? so unless you are unfortunate not to have any legs this order makes the whole experience a bit ridiculous, with regards to the food i think if the cafe has more than five in they tend to rush and forget attention to detail resulting in poor quality food and presentation , the cappucino was tasteless and almost warm milk , I asked for a replacement and was given exactly the same and a rude look for complaining ,I think the owner doesn't actually want customers but just wants their well earned money, the experience was awful , I sympathise with the young staff whom I cant fault but needless to say I dont see myself giving this place...
Read moreWe were told that our dog (spaniel) was too big, and we'd have to sit outside or order takeaway. It was too cold to sit outside and expensive for takeaway toasties, so a little disappointed, to say the least, especially as there were plenty of available tables. There was already a French bulldog inside, so I'd suggest making it clear that you're a Tearoom that's only friendly towards very small dogs!...fair enough that you have a notice on your window but isn't much help for those visiting for the first time on foot and with limited other options. Just include the information on your Google description so others don't have a...
