The Sir Henry Tate - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Chorley

My last visit to this Wetherspoons was on Tuesday 28th August. Me and my wife went in, it was quite busy, but we found a table that had just been vacated, it was still full of plates and empty glasses, but as we sat down a member of staff came and said she’ll clean up, she took the glasses and plates away then gave the table a wipe down, leaving a 3rd of it untouched. Then I went to make our order, the staff looked very busy and people were getting served who were not in the right order. Then when I was asked what my order was, a gentleman next to me said he was next, and he probably was, so I let him get served. Then she came back to me, first she didn’t know if there was a free drink with my order, so she had to ask someone, then I put card in the machine while she got my drinks, then when she gave me my drinks she went to the next customer next to me, who was a woman, so I quickly said, “I’ve not put my PIN number in yet”, and both the member of staff and women turned and looked at me with what I can only describe as frustration in their faces!!! Anyway I put my number in and then it was done. She then went to serve this other customer, but after this little experience I didn't have much faith in them getting my order right, so I asked for my receipt. This time the woman looked at me again with a look of disbelief on her face, and the member of staff gave me a disgusted look, got the receipt and just slapped it on the bar. Then while we waited for our food other people who had come in after us were getting their food, and after 45 minutes I was getting ready to ask where our food was. But then our food came, with an apology it was late, saying that there had been a mix up! My food which was a Gammon dish, looked pretty sad, but my wife’s looked pathetic, she had the Cheese, Mayo & Tuna Panini with chips, and they looked like they had just been slapped on the plate. Afterwards no one came to ask if everything was ok like they are supposed to. We both said never again are we going in there. Shocking service. It was a cold day yesterday 28/02/23 decided to nip in Wetherspoons for a meal we both sat near the window overlooking the solicitors offices outside it was very drafts and the pub was not warm at all despite this we decided to give the pub the benefit of the doubt . We ordered my partner and myself a mixed grill first off no egg mentioned on the menu smaller mixed grill ??? in the menu no mention of beans nor bacon instead a very small piece of chargrilled pork a piece of tomato the end I usually discard when I’m cooking at home. Frozen garden peas one sausage and another small piece of meat which was not steak.Everything was chargrilled very dry cold some if the peas were not cooked properly the egg which was paid for seperately May I add was hard. Where do these chefs come from ?? My plate was very like warm in fact I was utterly disgusted with the meal which we paid for in advance I will never go in there again and I will definitely make it known to friends and family members and it was not just ourselves who complained another couple did so but there were no senior staff around only young girls serving and it was not their fault . The only reason we opted in there was the Prince If Wales we’re not doing food yesterday for some reason . Wetherspoons get your act together poor...

Been going on a Tuesday for steak night for years new staff all the time Just been again today 26/2/19 not impressed A girl called lily served us got order wrong in the first place had to tell her again argued back with my husband said that's wat we ordered and it wasn't We ordered 2 steaks and a bottle of wine £18.99she was charging us £20.99 I asked for steak with jacket potatoe and salad when it came no salad it was with peas and tomato we told her she argued back said we didn't order that I know we did we didn't get a receipt so couldn't prove it she needs a lesson in customer service really as she thought she was right from the start and we weren't We know wat we ordered and how much it is as we go that often so we asked to see the manager all he said was he would have a word that's not good enough we won't be going again and that's a shame cos it's a good deal but there's plenty of good places out there to go to We left disappointed I wouldn't order as it comes as I hate peas This is wat I left still...
