I have been multiple times before and won't be returning after a very disappointing experience for breakfast today. We live local and have been on numerous occasions.

Upon arrival, there is always a sign advising customers to "please wait to be seated." There were two members of staff behind the counter serving, but no one available to advise on seating. Usually we have just seated ourselves and in fact a couple of other customers dod just this. I waited a few minutes near the entrance because i know it can get busy quickly. When no one approached, I moved to the counter in the hope of speaking to someone. After approximately ten minutes, another member of staff appeared.

I asked her whether I should simply choose a table, given that only three tables were occupied. Rather abruptly, she told me, "no, you need to wait to be seated," before walking me back towards the entrance. I explained that I had been waiting, but there had been no staff available to advise. She then said, "you need to be seated because you need to know the table number." Having visited multiple times before, I responded that "the table numbers are on the tables," to which she loudly replied – so loudly that embarassingly other customers turned to look – "why are you being sassy with me?".

I find the behaviour and strange use of term by the staff member to be totally unacceptable, particularly from a member of staff whose priority should be delivering good customer service.

Frankly, the "wait to be seated" sign feels redundant. On numerous occasions, there has been no one attending to this process. You end up seating yourself and then ordering at the counter anyway. While I understand the purpose of such a policy during busy periods, the café was extremely quiet with at least ten empty tables and no other customers waiting.

Overall, this encounter left a very poor impression. I hope you will review both the signage and the customer service training provided to your staff, to ensure that future customers receive a more professional and...

Very poor service was in today and my bank card did not work in the machine Spoke to the manager who agreed I could order a breakfast take a seat then transfer money into different account. Which was kind of her. Breakfast arrive with honey over my gluten free bread which I stated I did not want. Lovely young girl who served me the breakfast kindly offered to change it . When the young girl came back with the breakfast I had informed her I still had to pay for my breakfast .she said no you had paid..

I tried to explain to the young waitresses that I had not paid . And would like to pay my bill by card .

I saw the manager coming towards the table and said its fine thank you your manager is coming over with card reader and knows the situation regarding my card . When the manager came towards me she accused me of being offence towards her worker ! I replied I find that very insensitive as I am also polish . I have sourced who is the catering provider for this establishment and I am in the process of lodging a complaint as she was shouting at me and being rude .. This was videoed by a customer who is happy to back up my complaint . Feeling disappointed as this is a local service to me .

The previous 2 managers were very polite and courteous towards myself and other groups from the community who use this establishment for work and...

Came here with some friends for lunch on Sunday. Lovely big space with a good varied menu (and a lovely looking display of sweet treats!)

My wife had the bacon roll which was really good. Lovely soft fresh roll with plenty of perfectly cooked bacon.

I had the smashburger (I can't resist a burger if it's on a menu!) The menu said it was "two mouthwatering 3oz crispy smash beef burgers" but unfortunately it didn't live up to the description! They were not mouthwatering or crispy or even smashed. They were just two standard small patties that were overcooked so not juicy at all. To be a smashburger you have to start with a ball of meat and properly squash them down really thin so they go all crispy at the edges (which I think the person who created the menu intended from the description) but that was not what I got. On the plus side, there was a lot of lovely melty cheese and nice lettuce, and it was served in an amazing ciabatta style roll that was really crispy on the outside yet soft inside (possibly the nicest thing I've ever been served a burger in, so was a shame the meat itself didn't live up to the bun)

Our other friends enjoyed their food (soups and pannini) and my friends "Buddha bowl" looked amazing.

The latte was also really good.

I would recommend this place, and we will be back. But I won't be having the burger...

We love this wee cafe/brunch place. The team is friendly, professional, well organised and offer a great service. The cafe itself has a beautiful view of the Pentlands Hills. They have a fantastic selection of homemade cakes, scones, soup and burgers. We had a Scottish breakfast, the veggie breakfast and a chicken burger 🍔. Tasty food, fresh and for an affordable price. They have lots of sweets with a vegan and gluten-free option. Great coffee as well. Also good to mention that everything is in place for the COVID and it is recommended to book your table in advance. We recommend and we’ll come back to enjoy some nice food and the view.

Kitchen open to 3:30 on a Saturday although the cafe itself is open to 5. Lovely venue with great views of the Pentlands. Free parking. Not very accessible as up a flight of stairs. Food looks promising, although as others have commented, the baking feels a bit dry. Venue has a bit of a swimming pool acoustic to it and is a bit noisy even when mostly empty so maybe not so suitable for some autistic people. Good coffee! The counter area is too dark and I had to use my phone light to clearly read the labelling.
