Colinton Inn — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Had a great lunch in the newly opened (3 days ago) restaurant. The restaurant is in the basement and offers an excellent value 2 courses for £9.95.

I had soup (spicy tomato and basil) and hubby had smoked salmon. Soup was piping hot just what I needed on a cold damp summer day! Husband said salmon really nice too.

We both opted for steak and ale pie served with veg and mash or chips. Didn't have room for pud so just had coffee.

Good honest food at a good honest price. Chef (Ian) and waitress (Freya) were friendly and welcoming. As were staff in pub upstairs. Restaurant and pub both dog friendly. So it's a great place to walk to through Colinton Dell.

We hired their private room for our Christmas party and the venue was perfect! The room has it's own bar so everything was contained in the same room,which was perfect for us. We were welcomed by the manager who could not have done anymore to make us feel at home. The bar staff were also excellent, they were friendly and no request was too much bother to them. They even went above and beyond to save our event. Finally, it's not over priced, our prosecco was very reasonable. Honestly they could not have done anymore to make our evening any better!...
