Went for a breakfast which was lovely! Waited a while as there was a mix up in the kitchen but the gentleman who served us took money off our bill and give us a coffee on the house for our wait. I can't remember his name but it was the best service I have ever received when dining out hence why we decided to visit again. Unfortunately we didn't tip due to having no cash and we didn't realise you could tip on card. We come again for dinner tonight to be pleasantly greeted by him again ( thank god ) hoping he would know how much we appreciated his service as we wanted to leave a tip for him. He brought crayons over for my baby to keep her occupied too which was nice. However a lady had to take over and my partner got a cocktail but he couldn't drink it as it was just tastless ice ... we made the lady aware, and she took it come back and said that she had blended it so it maybe easier to drink. He still wasn't happy so she offered to take it away when we heard laughing between her and " the manager " over the cocktail and her asking what table number it was. She didn't ask once how our food was neither and my partner was quite infuriated that the ladies were laughing in regards to the drink as we felt awkward complaining in the first place. She also kept walking away when my partner was trying to ask her things.p Did not tip because of the service received by these ladies. But if the gentleman who served us before hand sees this, Thank you your service is appreciated and if we visit again, we will be sure to show our appreciation. The food was nice ( partner got a steak I got chicken and ribs combo ) thanks to the ladies that made us feel like rubbish after ,but the breakfast was beautiful, again thank you to the lovely pleasant gent who serves us with...
Read moreWe went here for dinner new years day & it was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. We ordered a rare steak & a half roast chicken. After waiting half an hour our waiter came to inform us that there had been a delay & our food would be along in 5 mins. 15 mins later there was still no sign so we told a waiter to cancel our order as we didn't even want it at this stage. 2 tables near us who had come in 10-15 mins after us had gotten their starters and mains before we had anything. He went into the kitchen & came back to tell us that our food was being plated up & he then went & spoke to his manager who kept looking at our table & then went to check the computer to see what time our order went in at. Our waiter then brought out our food except one of the dishes was not what we had ordered & the correct one was cold. The waiter brought back the wrong dish but at this point, the chefs were standing at the door to the kitchen with their coats on, ready to go home. Our waiter apologised & told us that of course our meal would be free but that it would be another 20 minute wait to get the rest of the food. He then went & spoke to the manager again who this entire time avoided our table & skulked behind a booth watching us, she never once attempted to come over & speak to us. We then left & went to the Clam Shell across the road, got all our food in 5 mins & it was delicious. Will never go back to the Filling Station or recommend it to anyone. You can understand waiting in a restaurant that serves fresh food but in a place that clearly serves precooked, frozen food you expect...
Read moreWent in today on a rare trip into Edinburgh & it started pouring down five mins away so we entered soggy & I now know this dress goes see-through in the rain!
We got there a few mins before the end of breakfast service so ordered drinks and waited for the lunch time to start (there was some confusion on both our side and the server about the food ordering and when we asked another server he explained then saw to us personally even though it was Natalia’s section. I would like to reiterate we were not complaining about Natalia’s service it was just cross wires)
I ordered the vegan burger (beetroot and bean on the menu but they’d ran out and replaced with with a soy burger which they informed me of before ordering) The vegan burger is cooked in the same fryer as the chips so gluten free vegans need to look elsewhere on the menu.
Hub had peperoni pizza and ordered extra fries which I managed to help him eat. I know - such a chore 😎
The gent who helped us explained there was a bit of a wait for food because whenever it rains everyone rushes in at once and whilst it good for them the kitchen can get backed up. It was about another 10-15 mins before we could order but then the food came out in normal time afterwards.
They automatically add a 12.5% tip which they say is discretionary but the service was fab, they both did two check backs on us and for as busy as it was we didn’t feel...
