The Edinburgh International Science Festival is an annual event which is housed in various venues for two weeks around Easter. The City Art Centre is the flagship venue with the focus on children and families and it is very well suited. I visited with three 10 year olds and our day passes allowed us to explore many drop in events and attend three workshops. Across the five floors of this exhibition space art-science collaboratives are exhibited along with many interactive exhibits including blowing bubble structures Drop in sessions allowed us to explore eyes using a cow's eyeball and sit at the Blood Bar to learn about scabs. I have attended the Science festival many times over the years with all my children of varying ages and it has just got better and better. It is an easy space to navigate even when bustling with families. It has good facilities and lots of cloakroom space and packed lunch areas. I think this is awful. There is no prior notice on your website of the closure. Highly inconvenient as I went into town specially and specifically to see the current exhibition (Wilhelmina Barns-Graham). I went to see it the other week and never managed any further than the first 2 floors of the gallery which were amazing.
