Leith Depot — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Was here for an event then a late lunch. Their function room can perhaps comfortably house 30 people at most. It can get a bit stuffy, even in the winter months.

On a Sunday, their kitchen may close at either 3 or 4 pm, check with bar staff. Also you probably want to reserve a table as the local demand varies.

On the day friends and I decided to stay for a late lunch, staff were accommodating even though our numbers changed a couple times. It wasn’t busy though, mind.

This place is fabulous! Small, cosy and a bit noisy but a great atmosphere. Amazing people working here with a lovely welcome and great service. We came here on a Saturday night (would highly recommend booking, we did 😊) visiting from outer London to see Marti Pellow at the playhouse..... and this place set us up for a great weekend away 🤗💚💃 The menu has a varied selection from burgers, mac and cheese (gorgeous, but prepare not to be able to move afterwards!!! A lovely generous portion!), salmon (a thumbs up from my mum and sister in law 👍😋) Light bites, mini burgers, yummy desserts featuring the obligatory deep fried Mars bar, with an iron bru reduction 😜 Great lattes...... Cannot recommend...

Would I call this a gastro pub? Based on the cheese burger definitely not. I've passed this place many times but popped in with my partner for dinner for the first time this week. Lovely vibes and friendly welcome. Staff attentive and polite, great drinks selection. Food menu is good too, what you would expect from a pub. My burger was a real let down however, mainly due to the small and cheap but significant element: the bun. Dry, flakey, low quality... Please buy better ones... The fries were also quite mediocre. My partner's chicken burger was tasty and juicy, and he got cheese sauce as an extra, which they didn't charge for, so that...
