Greggs — Restaurant in Colchester

So why 3 stars. I mean it's Greg's right, what's not to like. However no Sausage rolls for one. I mean keep and eye and cook more so you don't run out. That's why we all come in. So already disappointed I went for katsu curry slice and just to keep things on the up, went for a classic steak bake. Although nice felt a bit cheated with the Katsu Curry one, as its just curry chicken and a crispy coated on the outside of the Pastry. However still ok All be it warm and not hot. Fortunately the steak bake was as expected banging but again not hot but warm. However this is a side bonus for me as you can eat it without the 3rd degree burns or waiting 3 hours for it to cool to eating temperature 🤣🤣. Not a good experience at Greggs, Stanes Park Colchester , yesterday. We purchased two ham and cheese baguettes and sat down.The baguettes could have done with longer in the oven, they had no colour. It was untidy in the seating area , there were dirty tables and the floors needed sweeping. A woman came in and wanted a table of five, and she asked for a table to be cleaned . A young man came out and washed the table but when she asked about the floor he said it's done once a day at night! Whilst he was cleaning the table there was nobody serving behind the counter and customers waiting. We felt this was very poor .Greggs have a good reputation and this wasn't what...

This is an absolute treasure of a Gregg's branch. Its location, along with the other services there, is very convenient and well placed.

The food was as tasty as fresh as if it had been a town or city centre branch. The service if what stood out the most. The staff on duty on 22nd December around lunchtime were probably the most polite and professional Greggs team I've had the privilege of being served by.
