Yummy Chinese — Restaurant in Colchester

Weirdly I read the one star review about the dry crispy shredded beef from this place and was intrigued. I order this dish every time I place an order at a Chinese restaurant and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Long story short I really liked it. I can’t give Yummy 5 stars as I literally only ordered the crispy shredded beef so I can’t comment on the whole menu. For those people more curious about why I liked the beef read on... if you’re already bored... don’t bother. The dish was “dry” in the sense that the chilli sauce was at the bottom of the container and the beef was served on top instead of mixed in. I really liked this as sometimes the sauce can be soaked into the beef too much and make it less crispy. For those of you who like pork crackling then definitely order this dish as it was beyond crispy and the beef pieces were bigger than I’ve had in other places. I ordered food from here tonight and spoke to the lady on the phone and asked about the spicyness of the chopped chicken curry she told me it was very mild when it turned up I couldn't even eat it as I tasted a little bit of the sauce and OMG it made my lips on fire and also asked about prawn crackers and ask if you could make sure they don't forget them like last time and she said yes no problem when my food turns up I then find that I have no prawn crackers and curry was spicy I then call the company up and got told we will deliver the crackers next time and said the curry is mild which it was not and then a man spoke to me on the phone and I said the curry is very very spicy and you forgot my crackers he laughed at me and said that isn't his problem as I have got my food I then said you can collect it and give my money back to which he then told me NO you got your food so NO can do and then hung up I wish there was a NO star rating and will never use this...

I honestly can't rate these guys enough, first and foremost the food is fantastic. I first used yummy the weekend before lockdown, it was so good that I have been waiting ever since to have another meal from them purely because I enjoyed the last so much. As well as the food, both today and the last meal the service was very welcoming and accommodating, so much so that I was impelled to write this review whilst eating. They happily made me a dish of Broccolli and mushrooms in garlic sauce upon request and I can honestly say it is the best I have ever had.
