New Wave opened today. We weren’t disappointed. The owners have done a fantastic job of refurbishing the restaurant from the ground up to give it a very fresh and clean feel about the place and subtle sea theme runs throughout. Our small party of 4 were one of the first to have lunch at this fabulous little brasserie. It has a plentiful menu of sea food goodies and whatever you had was finely presented. I had the mussels and they were absolutely delicious. The staff were quite professional and very helpful. The restaurant is quite small and only has a handful of covers inside the main bar area but we knew this before going in. There is also a larger ‘shack at the back’ which we had a look at before we left which can cater for larger groups and I would have been more than happy to have been seated in there. We spoke at length with Alex, the manager, after we’d eaten. Very nice chap who treated us all to a small one on the house because we were the last to leave. Personally I thought the prices were fine and for fine sea food was a bout right but others may find it a little weighty on the pocket depending on what you choose from the menu. All drinks included with main and dessert we happily paid about £30 head. This is a smashing little restaurant which I highly recommend based on its opening day experience. And I’m very glad to see it open in...

Been reading amazing review about this place, I have high expectations about it. I usually buy my salmon sashimi from New Wave in Cirencester.

We ordered 1 Maldon oyster, wild red Argentina prawn with fries and salad, miso glazed salmon with tenderstem brocoli, soft shell crab burger and seafood linguine.

Service was ok. Ordered orange juice but was serve with orangina. They changed it. Didn't ask if I would like any condiments for my fries.

Food: Soft shell crab burger :seeing good review about soft shell crab burger. Broiche was dried and hard. I have eaten alot better soft shell crab burger elsewhere.

Wild red prawn Argentina - my suggestion is to slice the prawn shell so it would be easier for your customer to pull it out. I am able to do it with cutlery but most can't.

Miso Glazed Salmon - middle part of the salmon was over cook. I am not expecting this from a fish restaurant. Also could do with 3-4 pieces of potato like your other fish dishes!

Seafood linguine was good.

Maldon Oyster - is fresh.

As a seafood lover, I had the soft shell crab and was sad and disappointed.

Atmosphere: unfortunately a new patrons with a dog came and started barking. Not the restaurant fault. Wasn't sure if dog and non dog area...

I've been here three times in recent months with family including my Japanese wife and her mother, who are both pescatarians and know their seafood.

It's a great location in the high street with lots of free parking nearby in the evening. The interior is decorated with a bit of a seaside vibe. The tables are roomy and simple but comfortable. The staff are cheerful and helpful.

The food is great, providing you like seafood. It's a fish restaurant!

There is enough variation in the specials menu to keep you coming back. I particularly liked the soft shell crab burger, and my wife was blown away by the giant prawns, which are a huge messy dish.

On one occasion the seafood gratin was oversalted, and I've taken a star off for that, but we would definitely go back. There aren't enough seafood places in the UK.

My pics are from the three times I have...

Stopped overnight and saw this place, had a wonderful evening. Food was fantastic, very, very good seafood. Amazing Taramasalata with fried fish skin, excellent fresh tasting anchovies, beautifully prepared Tuna sashimi with perfectly matched and tasty noodles and pickles, very crispy and tasty squid, chargrilled prawns (big and lots of them), excellent ray wing special. There so much choice on the menu we'd have to visit many times to enjoy it all! The chef is clearly genius at getting the food so perfect. Excellent wine choice too, we went for a Picpoul which was bright and fresh, and perfect temperature. Service was very attentive and friendly. Absolutely nothing to fault, a perfect evening meal and experience. We will definitely find an excuse to return!
