It's a lovely looking public house. Prices are reasonable, and there are some free overnight parking spaces for motorhomes if you buy a meal or drink. The meals are average, they will suit basic requirements. It's a shame, another beautiful public house building. But the money has not been invested into the business side. You can feel the lack of investment, the staff are doing their best, but there is no feeling of community in the pub, just people passing through, which gave us an aire of tomorrow will be another day. The menu is high in expectations, but the food is mediocre. The New Inn is set in beautiful historic village and is on Park 4 night for motorhomes and Campervans. Whatever, it is truly a place worth a visit, like everywhere at the moment if you dont use it you will lose it!! And it is a place worth saving. There is a large carpark and plenty of places for those who have...
Read moreAfter a stroll around the lovely village we decided to pop in for a drink and hopefully some chips. We had visited here a while back and was pleased so thought it would be the same this time around. Place was deserted when we got to the bar area we encountered two women just having a chat at the bar. I asked if it would be ok to sit and have some food in the back garden, they said no food. This was ok as was going to have a drink, we went and sat in the back nobody came out to us, we waited 15 minutes still nothing, nobody even checked. You would’ve thought they would’ve appreciated the custom giving how quiet it was, seems having a chat amongst staff members were more important. We went and took our custom to the pub down the road, much more welcoming and lovely pub chips. Won’t be returning here as they clearly...
Read moreLocal Pub with potential
I have been going to this venue for over 18 months now, its nearly a local for me,however over the past 3 months its gone from my favourite localish pub to one not to return to.
Locals have turned it into a loud and dark place forgetting other people who want to also enjoy good food and have a quietish time.
Food quality has dropped and the ambience has changed from a cosy place to stop by and eat good pub food to a local drag.
Its a shame really as The New Inn caters for all that walk through the door, tourists, locals and not so locals. Management should really put the loud ones in their place and bring back an ambience to suit a majority who want to enjoy good pub food.
