Firstly We have just moved to the area, and have been looking for a local that serves good food, with excellent customer service. We have been a few times for a drink and all seemed OK. We vusited this establishment with a view to having a few drinks then a Sunday lunch. We bought some drinks and sat on a table that did not have a reserved sign on the table. I went to buy a second round of drinks and was advised we had 30 minutes to vacate the table as it was reserved. I was very concerned as it was a special occasion for me and my partner and I objected to having a restriction put on us. I further enquired as to why there was no reserved sign on table. I was told we do not have enough reserved signs for the tables that we have. I moved to another with my partner with no reserved sign on it, I enquired if this was reserved and they said no. Secondly Thee is an errant cat keeps bothering clients when eating their meals, which is not appropriate in a food environment. The staff freely move the cat around and do not wash their hands. A diner had to move the cat 4 times in 30 minutes Attention to detail and investment in reserved signs is the call of the day together with lessons in customer service. Such a pity as seemed really nice

A great find hidden by the river Yes, keep driving, you're not going the wrong way, pass the pub on your left and park up. There is plenty of sitting areas outside and inside to suit the weather. With one of the most diverse pub menus in the area, with a fusion of foods from one of their Italian chefs. The menu is diverse to say the least, with a variety of foods to suit most palates. Along with classic drinks like cruzcampo from Spain. We had a selection of starters and mains which we gave on average 8/10, bravas which weren't but were tasty i.e. with tomato romesco, chilli garlic prawns, yum , thai fish curry which was very nice. Staff are wonderful and very helpful choosing something from the large menu. Recommendations Fully recommended for great lub food with a twist. #garystribe #localguide #localguides #letsguide #wales #chepstow #pubs

What a lovely little find, fell in love almost instantly with such a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was quite busy so we were relieved to find a table free. Regulars at the bar engaged in conversation and pleasantries, staff were so friendly and helpful. Beer was delicious and served in spotlessly clean glasses. Food was absolutely dynamite, I had the chilli beef strips which were melt in your mouth, my partner had sausage with bubble & squeak which was a tower of food, child had popcorn chicken in a basket - all huge portions, piping hot, nicely presented and served with a smile. Booked for Sunday Lunch there and then. Delighted again on our return visit. Roast Beef with huge homemade yorkie puds. Child went for giant yorkie filled with veggies which was enormous! Highly recommend this pub 👌
