Afghan Turkish Restaurant — Restaurant in Coventry

I booked a table of 35. Unfortunately, it took close to 2 hours before we were served anything. Tables that arrived after us were receiving complimentary bread before we were even served our drinks. We were not even served tap water until after our food arrived as we were told there were a lack of glasses. I understand that with a large table there will be some delays, however, the booking was made days in advance and they clearly did not schedule in enough staff. When I made the booking, I was told that we could go up to the till to order and pay separately, however, when we got to the restaurant I was told that we can not do this, and would need to be put on a bill all together, which cased a delay in the end.

Due to the lack of staff, the atmosphere was tense, and this was shown in the staffs demeanour. We could hear them having disagreements, and some being shouted at while trying to serve the food, which was not professional.

There was also issues with the food. Some in our group had ordered platters for 3, while others had ordered platters for 2. There was no clear difference in either, which caused some confusion as to if we had been served the correct things. But the staff did not pay too much attention to this and just insisted that we had been served the right things. There were also some items that were ordered that were never received, yet they were still put on the bill, so we had to double check this before leaving. However the taste of the food was nice

Overall the food was nice, but very much let down by the service. We did not receive the warm welcome you would expect from most Turkish restaurants. As a group, we paid well over £300 even after all the issues, and was offered no discount or freebies for the inconvenience. Its a shame, but they have lost 35 people who...

We have been devoted clients for more than 2 years. We have always come here for a great supper or to hang out with friends. Not much room for complaint. Up to yesterday. I would give it a zero stars since I left without feeling like my concerns were taken seriously or addressed. We came over yesterday evening . We bought the three-person plate with mixed chips, rice, and four strawberry mojitos. They did let us know that the meal will be 20 to 30 minutes later than usual. which was OK to us because we were prepared to wait. An hour and twenty minutes later, the food arrived. And we quickly realised that we had received an entirely incorrect order. Given that it was merely a rice dish. Hence, there was no sign of chips . Second, there was just not enough food for three people platter because there was no meat at all. We inform waiter of the issue. And all that is said to us is, "It your platter, the chef cooks from a receipt and doesn't make mistakes." Alright, so why are we sitting with just a rice platter on the table when we specifically requested a rice and chip platter? There was no spicy chicken or chicken shawarma. I reiterate that this is not our order because we have been coming here for a long time and are familiar with the appearance of our food on the table. And it wasn't correct this time. We were never able to complete the platter of the three-person plate. with four individuals. However, it was all gone this time. Yes, we did complete it. However, the waiter became combative and impolite with me. Hidden gem. May not be in the best of areas but don't let that fool you.

I had the pleasure of taking my family there. We booked the place in advance because we were a large family so we wanted to make sure we had the seating available. The hostess on the phone was very happy to take our reservation and we even had to call back and change the time and push it back an hour. They were happy to do so!!

The setting is decieving as from outside it doesn't look like a big restaurant. Once you go inside you feel like you are in Turkey. Beautifully designed lights and very nice ambiance. We were greeted by a waiter and he directed us to our reserved seats. Exactly where we had asked on the phone.

Once we sat down and decided what we wanted to we asked the waiter to take our order. (In a lot of places they pester you every 2 minutes for your order which I find annoying) We ordered our food and within minutes out appetisers were brought out. This was complimentary! Wow! We had Turkish flatbread with dips and salad (including hummus, olives, cream cheese and chives dip and more). I could've had that as a main on my own to be honest. Lol.

Our main was a mixed platter of Kebabs, meat and chicken with a bedding of easy cooked rice (Look at attached photo). It was perfectly cooked, at the right temperature and the right marinade. Not too spicy and not too salty. I've been to places where the grilled good is literally burnt and tasted like burnt wood.

I would recommend the mixed platter for a variety if you're not sure what to order. Best of everything. The portions were too large for us so we got everything packed and took it home!! Too good to...
