Myself and my husband had a table for two booked at 6pm and whilst I appreciate the fact that it is a small busy restaurant, I didn't like the way in which they presented the bill to us. I would however add that it is a pleasantly decorated little restaurant with a nice atmosphere but a little on the noisy side. The staff initially seemed pleasant but after my starter the main course came but without the rice that I'd ordered and although this was noted by the waiter who served my dish I still had to ask again for it. This wasn't to much of an issue and I put it down to them being busy . We also asked for wine glasses and they had run out so we were provided with what I would describe as the modern large gin balloon glasses, again we didn't make a fuss and carried on enjoying our evening. At the end of our main and without us asking the bill was put on our table and we felt very rushed into paying, we hadn't been offered any dessert menu or coffee and also no one came to ask how our food was until the plates were cleared away. The food was good and I wouldn't rule out going again but if they have a second sitting then this should be made clear at the time of booking . We didn't even finish our wine as we felt that we were being asked to pay and leave, and people were waiting to be seated and looking at our table whilst I was putting my coat on . I had left a tip on the table for staff but had to pick this up and hand it to a member of staff as I walked to the exit in case my seat was jumped into by people waiting. To summarise, nice little place with tasty food but they clearly want a fast turnaround. Would I go again? Maybe but will definitely try others first before making that decision. Not bad some positives but...
Read moreWe took our daughter here for her 9th birthday this evening. What can I say. We were blown away by the staff they were attentive and so wonderful to her, calling her princess etc. Bought out a cake with us which they bought out at the end of our meal sung happy birthday to her, they let us decorate the table before we arrived with banners and glitter. So attentive and wonderul. The food was outstanding, staff exceptional, although the room is small but it doesnt matter at all as its beautiful inside and they all made her feel like royalty. Don't worry about bad reviews they are a false representation of this place. Its a hidden Gem 100% returning again in the future. Whatever the occasion your visiting they will provide a great atmosphere to enjoy fantastic food. Thank you De Laban for making our daughters birthday so...
Read moreI have just been to De Laban with my two children to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was the first time they have been to an Indian restaurant, and the first time for all us at this restaurant. De Laban is a fairly new Indian restaurant. It has modern decor and a fresh look. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This restaurant does not serve alcohol, but you can bring your own. There is an off license just a few down . They do have a good selection of soft drinks. The food was delicious and very fresh. We will most definitely be going there to eat again. The staff are very accomodating of children. In fact they said "We welcome children of ages. We love to see them and have them here. They are our future customers." We had a fantastic evening. The De Laban also offer a...
