Hogans Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Coventry

Not a good start at all we had booked table for 3oclock when we arrived we were not booked in . But they found us a table even though only about 4 other people were there. Older lady was not very welcoming at all.shegave us menues at table and wanted us to place food order before we had even looked at it . Meal came not good at all but didn't feel comfortable to complaining to her. We tried to eat has much has we could but finished our drinks and played the bill . The young girl took our money and asked if everything was ok and we said no not really steak was very tough and other meals were not up to standard all she said was o dear . And then walked away . Will never go there again and will not recommend it to any friend or family . It used to be a great place but...

Four of us went for Saturday lunch. First time for me for at least a decade. Nice decor plenty of tables, only four tables were taken up. Nice choice on menu although for a bistro thought it was a tad expensive and no lunch time special menu. We all only had a main meal. Sirloin teak with chips and peas £16.99. I had salmon with prawns although they were more like shrimps, jacket and side salad £13.99. pie and chips and chilli and rice with extra chips for the other members of our group. Seemed a while from ordering to being brought to table but everyone finished their meals, always a good sign all was ok. Waitress was very pleasant making sure we had our drinks. Fantastic wee bar and bistro. Cosy, tucked away little gem. Was a fantastic venue for a significant family celebration, serving delicious meals along with fabulous service for the entire evening. They kindly allowed an impromptu Tenor Singer to surprise my Mum on her birthday (although admittedly, a professional West End Star would be a welcome boost for any Bar/Restaurant!) For those of us who wish to enjoy a pleasant intimate atmosphere, without being deafened by loud music or crushed at the bar, this offers just that.
